Just like any 16 ga wire may be side by side round but by no means flat, low profile or anything else.

I suppose "flat" is a relative word. Is this cable flatter than a speed bump in the road? Yes. Is it as flat as you would expect for "flat speaker wire"? Not nearly. Even when put under a carpet, I can still feel it. It's effectively two, standard cables laid next to eachother. If you really want flat speaker wire, look elsewhere.
