This MahaMane Smooth & Shine Hair Oil arrived beautifully packaged, making it perfect for gifting. The small amber bottle with a pipette applicator adds a nice touch, and I found it easy to use. The oil itself is a rich yellow colour and has a strong but pleasant scent, which I assume is from the added perfume to mask the natural aroma of the oils. One of the things I appreciate most is that the formulation is silicone-free. I’m not a fan of how silicone-based products feel on my hair and hands, so this was a big plus. Instead, this oil is a mix of nourishing oils like castor, safflower, coconut, rice bran, babassu, and jojoba—quite an impressive lineup. You only need a small amount, applied to the ends of damp hair, and it really does leave my hair looking shiny and smelling lovely. However, the fragrance might be a bit too strong for some, so if you're sensitive to scented products, this could be something to keep in mind. At £18 (at the time of writing), the price does feel a little high for the small amount you get, but considering the quality of the ingredients and the lovely finish it provides, it seems fair for those who prioritise natural oils over silicone-based products. That said, it's still too early to tell if this oil will help reduce frizz in the long term, but I’m hopeful given its nourishing ingredients.

Made my hair stronger and softer

I been using it on my scalp and my hairline at the front but I've been losing hair!! I am Indian and usually have thick hair but now im getting patches for the first time. I always have lost some baby hairs!!!! Im so sad because it actually made my hair worse. I got this thinking I can maintain my thick hair but I wish I never bought it!!!! I hope my hair and baby hairs will grow back

Nice product but it doesn’t sink in to my hair very well, always seened to leave a bit of a greasy finish. I have thick dryish hair.

The Fable and Mane MahaMane Smooth & Shine Hair Oil comes in a boxed glass jar with pipette to easily dispense just a couple drops per application. Despite being an oil, the consistency isn't oil like, but more of a runny consistency similar to a facial serum. This is a plus for me as I fine oil products do tend to weight my hair down a bit. This one is much lighter, so my hair is able to absorb it much better. The directions state to rub the oil into the palms (1-2 drops for fine hair, 3-4 drops for thick hair) then apply it to the mid-lengths and ends of towel dried hair. Style as normal. Alternatively, it can be used on dry hair too, just add a drop to the ends and/or flyaways for a smooth finish. My hair is bleached to an inch of its life and this causes frizz, so a product like this is just what I need. It has a beautiful sandalwood, jasmine, rose scent which isn't too strong. I prefer scented products personally, so the scent certainly works for me. I love the fact that the oil is light so absorbs easily, helping to tame the frizz and helping to add a nice shine to my hair. It also doubles up as a heat protectant too, so no need to add extra product to my hair when using heat tools, a big plus. I really like to apply it on my dry hair on my ends in between washes just to give my ends a bit of an extra hydrating boost. Moreover, the lovely scent lingers on my hair when I apply it on my dry hair, something I like very much. As will all beauty products, results will vary wildly from person to person, but my experience of using this product has so far been very positive.

I have thin hair, but a hell of a lot lot it, and in winter it can get so dry and knotty. I only use the tiniest amount, and it makes my hair so silky and smooth. Not just smooth looking either, it gets tangled so much less in the wind. I do have to be careful not to overdo it, as it can make my hair quite greasy if I use more than a tiny drop. This does mean the bottle will last for ages though I guess. Pretty sure this will soon become a cult product, highly recommended.

Had a sample and saw the change in my hair. Fantastic as it works for me hair. My hair looks shinny and new so to speak.

This is really good but I didn’t realize that this isn’t a scalp oil, the white cap one is for kids and ends and the black cap is for scalp. But Amazon doesn’t sell the black cap one by itself
