Thick book, verify the information before you believe it
I was pleasantly surprised when I first received this book because it was much thicker than I was anticipating. Most 50 states books tend to have one or two pages per state. This one has an average of 4-5 pages per state. It's written from the standpoint of a class of children talking about essays they wrote about the states, and is fairly colloquial(it's written as if the children are talking to each other).I haven't read the whole thing yet. The reason I'm reviewing it now is the first sentence on page 12: "Birmingham is the capital here, isn't it?" This page is for Alabama, whose capital is Montgomery. It says Montgomery on page 10, and it's on the map as Montgomery. There is no follow-up sentence to indicate that that information is wrong, so it's apparently a mistake. There doesn't seem to be an errata page for the book either, so I have no idea if there are more mistakes in the book. I bought the book for a classroom, and now I don't want to use it in case there are more mistakes that are less obvious. It's a shame because the book is cute, and has some trivia that would have been interesting to share, if I had time to verify it.

Cute states book.
Cute book for studying the states. Book is written as a dialog between two characters, while giving information about the state. The back contains a spot for collecting quarters. My kids have enjoyed this book. I would have preferred to go without the dialog between the characters, but it does a good job at presenting the facts about each state.

Great State Book
The details on the pages are clean, clear and well defined unlike a lot of other state books that are overly cluttered with information. This makes it easy on the kid's eyes (and mine) to look at and really take in the bits of information shared about each state. This book also comes with a puzzle and quarter collecting section. Very Nice!

Got this for my 5 yr old grandson who loves to look at maps. He has started reading every page in order to learn about each state. He loves it!

The book for the most part is good. It's got a lot of colorful illustrations and facts. But none of the coins would stay in their slots.

Bought this for Social Studies class for home school
I bought this book for S. S. class for homeschool, we were studying these United States and both I and my kids were just thrilled with it. It made the lessons fun and enjoyable. We went state by state. It is colorful and the puzzle is fun.

A book about the states should be accurate. This ...
A book about the states should be accurate. This one is not, starting from the cover. The back cover states that the abbreviation for Nebraska is NB. Unless you want to double check all of the information in the book, I'd pass on this one.
