Good but could be better
I've tried a good number of H&P notebooks over the years. I would say that this is my second favorite one, after the Wellnote H&P.Ill start with the positives. I like the size of this book, it is the same size as the others but it feels bigger for some reason. The physical exam section is very well done and thorough, especially the neuro part. Same with the ROS, better and more thorough than others. It also has a good amount of space for PE and ROS notes, so you can add the specific findings that you want to present. That being said there are a few things that stop me from this being the best. First is that the waterproof pages are incredibly annoying, unless you use a pencil or a pen that barely puts any ink on the paper, its going to smear. Even when the ink has been sitting for a couple of minutes, it will still smear all over my hands. I don't get why its necessary, I have never had one of my notebooks get wet to the point that I'd feel that waterproof pages are necessary. Second is that there isn't a lot of space for history beyond HPI, which is understandably the trade off for the thorough ROS and PE. It's good for follow up with known patients but for new encounters it is lacking. Third is that I wish it used gray background with white lettering like Wellnote, so you can write over everything you don't need.Overall the book is good, and recommended for new students who could use the reminders for physical exam and ROS.

Lifesaver for my PA Clinical Rotations!
Pros: includes helpful reminders like what (faded) lab values go in a fishbone diagram or shrugging for accesssory nerve. The spiral binding is helpful for writing. My favorite part is the anatomical man drawing for a quick visual way to remember what leg had what lesion or which arm their IV was placed. I love that it fits in my lab coat and my pen can fit through the binding. Less expensive than Medical Basics version. Everything is on a single page so you can tear it out as a single encounter. I was sceptical at first thinking I would have to turn back and fourth but it's divided really well into history/ ROS on front then physical on back so in practice it was pretty seamless transition.Cons: somewhat flexible cover. I used a medical basics H&P notebook first but decided on buying Docazons since it was less expensive and having tried both, the thicker cover was nicer while jotting down everything as I was walking to my next room. I wish the area for meds was larger but it's serviceable.Overall, this book is great and really helped me organize my case presentations and direct my exams. I would definitely recommend it to anyone else. I also bought Docazons OB/GYN version and I'm going to have to get the binding redone to spiral. Very happy customer though.

Heading are not grey scale as advertised
Some of the headings and pneumonics are supposed to be "grey scaled" but they are definitely black. So now there is space that I cannot use where they advertised you being able to write over it. This is the reason why I chose this over others.

This is great to help organize patient info for a non-seasoned/specialized clinician
This is great to help organize patient info for a non-seasoned/specialized clinician. The print is small, but legible, and the size of font used is about the only way to be able to fit so much information in a relatively organized manner. It is very thorough, and offers prompts about information that may otherwise be forgotten or overlooked. The book is a little large for a standard lab coat pocket, however it still fits in all of mine (along with other notes/items).I wish there were more room to document more pertinent info (from a hospitalist perspective) such as meds and PMH, and less room to document chief complaint. Maybe even a few pages to write generalized notes or reminders.

VERY ESSENTIAL
HIGHLY recommends to all med students, NP and PA students. It helps get a thorough history and even has room for 4 differentials on the second page. I just hate that it only has 100 pages. I wish there was one with 300 so I can use it for the rest of my life

H&P is better.
This is not as good as H&P notebook I have used. I hate that am flipping the page instead of just turning the book over. The way the book opens forces you to flip the page. A Small detail but it adds up with annoyance. I also need to turn the page to present instead of opening the book and seeing both pages. The print is pretty small too.

Works pretty good
I am using this book for my FNP clinicals. They work ok and have a lot of info on them. My only suggestion would be to have the pages facing each other instead of back to front. This way would make them easier to use quickly.

Order with plenty of time before you actually need it
Perfect size and setup for H&P note taking, but the first copy I received came badly scratched and worn on the outside. I ordered a replacement but it won't be delivered until the day I actually need it. Hopefully the replacement comes in better shape.EDIT: The second one came with just as many scratches and defects as the first (see the last two pictures). I will be returning and trying another brand.
