I picked up the Samsung T9 1TB Portable SSD to replace the stock USB drive in my Tesla Model S. It feels very premium. Works very fast. The Locking App sucks, though, so if you are into those safety features, this is not very useful. I tried to use those features a long time ago and I'm just not used to it nor interested, so I deleted it. They do send updates to those features so maybe nowadays it works better. Anyways, for the sake of storage and transfering fiels, it is very fast and reliable. I study Geography and go to plenty of academic Field trips, whichs puts a lot of stress on all my devices, including sand, extreme humidity, a lot of shake from the bus and even falling to the ground inside a not very protective bag, and I can tell by just holding it in my hand, this SSD it is not going to get damaged so easily.

This Samsung T9 SSD is hands-down one of the best portable drives I’ve used. I picked up the 2TB model and I’m blown away by the speed. Transfers are incredibly fast — perfect for moving large video files or backing up my camera footage. I consistently get speeds near 2,000MB/s, which is exactly what Samsung promises (if you have a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 port). The build quality is excellent. The rubberized casing feels tough and secure, and it’s got good grip for travel. I’ve tossed it in my backpack without worry. It’s also surprisingly compact for how much it can store. What I really appreciate is that it doesn’t overheat or slow down on big transfers. I’ve moved 200+ GB projects without any drop in performance. What I Fit On It: • 4K video projects • RAW photo backups • App data and Logic Pro files • Even game libraries It works seamlessly with my MacBook Pro and iPad Pro, and I love that it comes with both USB-C to C and USB-C to A cables in the box. ⚠️ Heads-up: If you don’t have a device with a 20Gbps USB port, you won’t get the full speed — but it’s still super fast even on 10Gbps USB-C. Also, the textured surface picks up lint, but that’s minor. ✅ Bottom Line: If you’re a creator, editor, or just want blazing-fast, ultra-reliable portable storage — the T9 is absolutely worth it. Speed, build, and performance are top-notch.

I use it to back up my Windows computer and iPhone. Works great! Very small and convenient. Data write speed is fast. Gets a little warm but not hot.

This ssd works great for long HD recordings and transferring files fast. Its size is really small, i wasnt expecting it to be so small. Its a little more complicated to use than just plugging it in. You need to use an app that it comes with called samsung magician to have full access to your drive. Would've given this 5 stars if the cable wasnt faulty. Had to buy a new cable cause the one it came with would have poor connection and would wiggle a lot.

Highly recommend the SAMSUNG T9! I’m in the process of gradually switching my Lightroom setup to solid-state drives (see my other reviews), and after searching for days, I finally found the T9. The case is rugged yet sleek enough for a desktop setup. The speed is incredible—Lightroom and Photoshop open seamlessly, and I no longer get the spinning beach ball. A solid investment for any serious photo editor.

Works well, functions fast enough to run games off, and can store plenty of stuff. also very compact to bring with you in a backpack
