Great Primer
I am beginning to do banking work at my firm, and this book was an excellent primer with respect to credit agreements. While there were a few confusing sentences here and there, for the most part, the book was exceedingly clear and explicit in explaining the purpose and provenance of each of the terms in a standard credit agreement. It is also organized in a way that makes it useful as a reference guide. Highly recommended.

A good outline of a poorly documented subject
This book provides a good outline of a poorly documented subject. Most articles characterize the credit risk inherent in these loans, but do not describe payment or sales/trading characteristics. Contrast this with the literature available on bonds or mortgage securitization, which describe everything from underlying credit characteristics to trading operations and standards to research. It amazes me that there is as much product variation as in this vehicle. The book is far from a primer -- it is more like a guide for paralegals. While it is not ideal for my use and doesn't cover many of the topics in which I'm interested, it is a single source of information on syndicated loan characteristics that seems to be found nowhere else.

A gem!
Really great book. I work in the environment that deals a lot a lot of credit agreements because my clients focuses on US term loans. Very good reference guide. It's clear on all the terms that seem confusing to anybody who has a sufficient business background but poor on the law side.

This is an excellent guide to credit agreement agreements that is written in clear, quite understandable prose. No legalese in explaining legalese!

Very solid book - One comment though - These provisions are obviously lender friendly, so if you represent a borrower you can use this book to understand where the lender is coming from, but please do not use it as template.

Great content, but difficult to get through
This was a very good overview of understanding credit agreements, but it's quite bulky and at times too wordy. But you will know everything you ever wanted to know about credit agreements after reading this book.

The essential guide for anyone negotiating a credit agreement!
If you find yourself needing to negotiate a corporate credit agreement as a borrower, CFO, treasurer, etc. this is the essential guide to have. The information in this book will help ensure you have the knowledge to negotiate market terms and retain important rights and protections in your credit agreement, whether you only look up a section or two when needed or actually read it cover-to-cover. One of the most valuable parts of the book is the discussions of different levels of borrower vs. lender friendliness for common provisions so you know exactly what to expect. It is an extremely valuable resource to have on your shelf.
