Why does it turn clear after boiling. Why does it turn white and get hard after it cools down?

The material it's made of is an invention. Instead of using a tray and a mouth full of goop this material was designed for easy at home fitting. I've redone mine at least three times until I was happy with the fit. As far as clear versus white that's the nature of the polymer plastic. It's meant to relax in high heat and stay solid in room or mouth temperature.
