Outstanding Book - Best To Date
4 years ago I humbled myself and admitted my trading wasn't what it could be and that the problem wasn't my knowledge of derivatives or technical analysis; the problem was in the mirror. I embarked on a journey to learn more about why my technical knowledge didn't translate to P&L. I've read a dozen books by some of the foremost people in the field of trading performance and how the brain works. To date Steve's is the best I've encountered for me.I specify 'for me' because the mental, emotional, and psychological aspect of trading is unique to each of us. We all have a unique upbringing, education, trauma, triumph, bias, prejudice, etc. we bring to the desk daily. For me, Steve's work is a very sound, applicable framework detailed with real world examples that should speak to any trader.Highly recommend this very coherent and well authored book.

The power of letting go
What a great book! It has a great flow and centered around a handful of powerful lessons that will help you become sharper in the constant tennis matches we have in our head with our ego. The blueprint laid out in this book is a great 4 step guide that will help one not be so internal with investing/trading goals. You will learn how violating one of these steps is the beginning of a road you don't want to go down. This book will help you look at your -ev leaks in a different perspective. It provides numerous strategies, lessons and stories about how our ego is the toughest part and how we can overcome it learning to live with it.I really enjoyed learning about the power of letting and go and resetting. I think that's a very important part a lot of investing books don't focus on. When you don't let go and reset, your leaving the door wide open for your leaks and ego to take over.I will be coming back to this book every few months so that I don't get lazy myself. Thank you Steve for sharing this wisdom!

Best Trading psychology book i have read.
Just the performance cycle alone, along with all the other information that Steven shares in his book makes it more valuable than most of trading psychology i have read before.I especially liked how we view it as a performance task than others which sometimes almost make it seem esoteric, given the example with some great traders and the British cycling team which i read about before, mental capital etc.It put so many aspects and perspectives into the right place for me and made it that much clear, it was also coincidental that i had mentioned quite a few of these things like protecting mental capital to my trading coach just last week before i started reading this.Excellent read and after having traded for some time now one SHOULD know what to do when in the market, the problem is something gets in the way of executing this and this books provides a process to help with smoothing out the P&L curve.

A framework for self-management
This book was a game changer for me. I have been trading for 4 years and I had figured out a profitable trading system. But I still wasn’t not making as much as I could have. This book helped me figure out what I was missing.I had a framework for interacting with the market, but I did not have a framework to handle ‘behavioral slippage’ (something you will learn about in the book) and my ego.Untamed ego causes a lot of issues and this book helped me tame it.

A different approach
The thing that really resonated about this book was it basically knew me and my issues with trading. I have read quite a few books on trading psychology and this is the first that actually made me say "yes, that's me, that's why I struggle". I believe this will be a great framework to finally break out of my continued cycle. I am a good trader who lets ego and self take over. Which makes me a good, poor trader. Great book, I highly recommend it! I fully plan on implementing the ideas and taking my trading to the next level!

Really gets to what is happening
This is the first book I've read that really addresses what happens to our brain when we are in the cycle of making trades. It takes on some complex issues, and describes them in simple accessible language. It explains how our ego gets in the way, how we short circuit our processes which causes poor performance. It also gives us a framework so we can see what is going right and wrong, and how we can become more present and aware while in the trading process. I cant recommend the book highly enough.

Takes complex mental processes and makes them understandable
Great book. It was a must read for me, putting a lot together in a very straightforward and understandable way. Added and will be repeatedly read in my library with other great trading psychology books.
