Heavy duty tool box, wooden box, chest, 60 x 40 x 32 cm, 63 litres with lid, stackable storage box

I bought 12 of these in three different sizes to use as toy storage.They were delivered well packaged for their international journey, in cardboard sleeves and with bubble wrap where appropriate. Delivery price via DPD was very reasonable against a large order value.Assembly was intuitive with instructions clear enough and helpful to confirm correct order of assembly, but not required after the first box. Details of design were not exactly as per the photographs and this could lead to concern as to whether a repeat order would be of the same design as previously purchased. Lids of design supplied are flush at top, and vents at bottom corners are missing.They are a very clever design, making good use of the material properties of the plywood - strong, sturdy, and held together tightly by wedges of the same material as the body. The raw finish leaves it up to the purchaser to stain, varnish or paint if required. Finish was generally good, with a few rough edges in places where it didn't matter, and apart from one slip in quality control, rounded and smooth at the handholds where it does matter. In all 12 boxes there was only one area of damage at a wedging point, but this was minor and made no material difference, and was not visually noticeable once assembled. No parts were warped and all fit together with ease - no forcing required.The modularity works very well, with no problems interlocking boxes of different sizes, except for one small slip in that the smallest boxes will not stack directly on the lid of the largest boxes. They will fit without the lid, and if required one could cut a suitable slot in the lid.There are few other conceptually similar products out there in similar materials that I was able to identify - genuinely modular, wooden, and very strong.I was impressed enough to write my first Amazon review.
