So my first product review in over a year is for this trailer hitch plug. Are there really differences consumers should know about when it comes to hitch plugs? Turns out there are....After an opportunistic bottom-feeder decided to steal the hitch plug that came with my new SUV, I needed to find a replacementSince I am sometimes weird about these things, I spent a while looking at and reading reviews for several hitch plug options here on Amazon before purchasing one (not this one). When I received it, I was concerned about how flexible the rubber was. It looked like decent quality, but sure enough, when I stuck it in the hitch, there was almost no friction to keep it there. The rubber simply bent inward wherever the ridges are that are supposed to press up against the sides of the hitch. This also created gaps where water and dirt could easly get in around the edges of the plug. And the square end cap part was really big. Probably stuck out 3/4 inch on all sides past the edge of the hitch. Functionally I suppose that's OK. But in 2024 is it enough for a product to simply be functional? Shouldn't it also be aesthetically pleasing? This reviewer says "yes."I got back into the trailer hitch cap market and found this one. And it's perfect IMHO. It is a very stiff and durable rubber material. It fits SNUGLY into the hitch. There is no way this thing is going to come out unless somebody decides to take it out. The square end cap part is finished in a nice semi-smooth texture that looks good, and also provides some grip. And the square end cap is sized so that it does not extends way beyond the edges of the hitch...it sticks out just over 1/4". This looks great and still provides more than enough of a "lip" to be able to easily remove it.If you need a trailer hitch cover I recommend this one. I may pick up some spares to have on hand when someone decides to steal this one off my car.

Great product - Low Cost and works perfectly

These black, textured hitch caps fit perfectly in my 2" receiver. They add that "finished" look to the rear of my truck and eliminate that glaring "hole" under my bumper. These caps are simple to install: simply push the cap into the receiver hole. To insert your trailer hitch, just pull out the cover. Super easy, good looking, and durable!

I needed a hitch cover to place in the front hitch that I just installed in the front of my 2019 Ford F250. The hitch receiver itself is between the two chrome-plated cross members of the truck's front bumper, so it's fairly visible. The black plastic OEM trim panels behind the bumper are a black matte finish, so I wanted a hitch cover that would closely match these panels. These covers match perfectly, and are made of a thick but flexible "rubbery vinyl" material. There are two drain slots in one side which, if installed toward the bottom, will allow water to drain out, as well as provide a means for moisture inside the hitch receiver to evaporate. There are ribs molded into the exterior of the other three sides, so the cover fits quite snugly yet can be inserted and removed fairly easily. I couldn't be happier with these covers (and very glad I bought two just in case one's stolen or lost!), as they're designed and manufactured really well, and look even better than I'd hoped on my truck.

Perfect fit, easy install

Decent quality and good price for a pair. If only hubby hadn’t set one on the bumper to install on other vehicle and then drove off and it disappeared!!! Oops - had to order another set! Can’t speak to durability/longevity since recently purchased.

No frills hitch cover...looks good, easy to install, feels solid and secure on my 3rd gen Tundra. No complaints whatsoever...and the price is great!
