The birch smelled exactly like cedar to me
If I buy something, I expect it to be very similar, if not exactly what the picture displays. Unless it’s fast food. This bat house was ridiculously inaccurate to the displayed house on Amazon and even the packaging it came in! Additionally, the packaging states it’s made from birch. The birch smelled exactly like cedar to me. Given cedar is better for a bat house purpose, but riddled with inaccurate descriptions and displays of the product.Don’t waste your money on this one. I ended up just going to big box hardware store. $15 was the cost of the cedar I bought to build my own.

Well made-Highly Recommend!
Lovely well built bat house! Made out of birch! A lot of bat houses use cedar, however bats do not tend to like cedar so it’s difficult to get them to move in. At least that is true for the Oregon valley region.I recommend this bat box. Also makes a great gift!

WHAT YOU GET IS NOT WHAT IS PICTURED
Bat house received has 2 slots in the front and three 3/4" holes in each side. Don't think bats would use this house. Will modify (close holes and extra slot). I would return it but don't have the original packaging.

Waste of money
Put this bat house up in the spring and no bats have moved in yet and it’s now almost winter waste of money and time

So excited!
I was so excited when I got it mounted. It was easy to install and it looks great. I am waiting for the bats to approve of it. They are great for mosquito control.

Still vacant
Nobody's moved in yet, should take a few years. Had to buy waterproof wood paint to paint it with (as per instructions on the box) before installing.
