An Assistive Device He Actually Uses!
This was a gift for my father in law who despises assistive devices. He is 95 and fiercely independent. Unfortunately we’ve noticed that a number of his falls happen when he is transitioning from being seated to standingI was not sure he’d use this after we set it up (very easy set up) on his couch. When we came back, he was actually using it and it was helping his stability!! Such a tremendous blessing! For the first time in a while, his “fall count” (he keeps track) has remained the same! This was an absolutely wonderful purchase. Although we’re still going to be concerned…this seems to be making the transition from sitting to standing easier and preventing falls. I am elated! This same gentleman pushes walkers and canes aside, but thankfully he is willing to use this device!!!

Flimsy, not worth the miney
Very flimsy when put together. I was going to use for hip replacement surgery, ended up throwing it away without using..

Wobbly
Great idea, but very wobbly. The frame has too much “play” in it…loose and not a firm feel.

Perfect and very useful!
This product came in very handy when I was recovering from knee surgery. It was perfect for helping me to sit and stand from my recliner.

Works best on a firm seat cushion
The MyBow chair/couch rail support arrived safe and sound and well packaged. Directions were literally right on top when we opened the box so no problem there. Quick and easy to put together by sliding the pieces in and locking into place. There is a learning curve to using the rails, we found putting hands more towards the front than the middle of the handles, and because the center legs are sitting on the cushion, it works best on a nice firm couch or chair. You have to be careful the long back railing doesn't slip down behind the seat cushion, or is is lower than the front - then it works best if they put their hands on the front/top curve of the railing to pull themselves up and out. It's more helpful than not, but it really depends on the firmness and design of the couch or chair you are using it on.

Essential
Using it to get up and out of my recliner while I recover from total knee replacement. Would not be able to get up without it. Very satisfied.

Flimsy
Flimsy for mom w/Dementia. Rubber hand holder tears easily and creates pole marks on the side of her body.

Handy device used to help disabled person get up from seated position.
Because of a disability I have great difficulty in getting up from a seated position in a too low armless chair or bench. I bought this device to help me stand when in such a situation. It is best used (and recommend) on a hard surface. It folds flat when not in use and opens by pressing the springed anchor buttons. It’s not heavy and has rubber feet to prevent slipping. It is sturdy. It serves the purpose for which I bought it.
