Teak Wood Shaving Soap Bowl | Mens Fine Wet Shave Bowl

Very nice shaving bowl. Plenty of room for my soap but still not to big. Lid fits well looks very nice. Seems to be good and sturdy. Would but again but don't think I'll need to.

Let me start by stating that I'm fairly new to shaving soaps and previously spent the past year doing it incorrectly.I found these and thought it looked great. I recall a friend, that turns shaver handles and shaving soap brush handles, mentioning how good teak is for shaving products. When it came in I loved the simple design and how easy it was to hold. Also had a great aroma with it, assumed to be due to the wood.Now the problem shown in the pictures is not how it cam e to me. The soap I wanted to try, now that my stop & shop special was out, required me to purchase a bowl to store the soap in and the two options that I found to melt shaving soap into a bowl online were either in the microwave or on the stove top. I prefer to use a microwave as little as possible so I went the stove top route. I filled a pot with water, placed the soap in the teak bowl, and placed the the teak bowl in the water, which floated. My guess is the areas that look rough are the parts that touched the pot above the water line. I wasn't please that I appeared to have ruined the smooth look it once had moments after receiving the bowl. Maybe I missed something but I didn't see anything to help direct any recommended way to melt the soap into the bowl so I went with what I had found. Now I need to look a little more to find out how to prevent this from happening when I need to refill the bowl.

Beautiful bowl. I melted my Bay Rum soap puck and have it in this bowl. Works well.My only negative comment is the lid knob is useless, it's so small (in height) that I can't grasp it. I just lift the lid off at the sides.

Excellent quality is just a little too small for the common soap puck. 5 stars for quality, 2 for function.

Arrived when promised, looks great, and does the job. I filled it by microwaving a quarter puck of my usual shave soap and pouring the hot soap into the bowl. This left plenty of room to work a brush. It could probably take a half puck comfortably, but I think more room in the cup equals less mess. I definitely recommend this product.

I knew I could not expect to much from a cheap product but I can not even give it 1 star. The bowl is so small I am sure a melted 3 in. puck would fill it to the top and make lathering a messy job. The cover is cut wrong or warped as it does not sit in the bowl evenly, it teeters. The knob in the center of the cover is only about 1/8th inch high so to lift the cover you have to grip it with your whole hand. I gave it to a friend, she thought it was cute . Amazon could make the experience better by making sure the product fits the category and is well made. I had to give it 1 star or I could not submit this, kind of sad.

Good looking bowl. Unfortunately moisture- such as that associated with shaving- lifts the finish. The bowl then goes from good looking to kinda scabby. Still works, though.

The bowl is great quality and the perfect size for my AOS refill pucks. Excellent choice if this is the size you need.
