I recently ordered several custom motorized roller shades from Yoolax, and while the product itself is fantastic quiet operation, perfect blackout, easy remote control, and seamless smart home integration the real standout was their customer service. Out of the batch, three shades arrived in the wrong size (my fault on measurements, but still a hassle). I reached out to their support team via email and WhatsApp, and they responded incredibly quickly and professionally. Without any pushback, they arranged for replacements at no extra cost beyond a fair adjustment fee for the new fabric, and even guided me on transferring the motors to minimize downtime. The new ones arrived promptly, fit perfectly, and worked right out of the box. It’s rare to find a company that goes above and beyond like this, especially with custom orders. Yoolax turned what could have been a frustrating experience into a completely positive one. I’m already planning to order more for the rest of the house. Outstanding Customer Service & Excellent Blinds
I ordered 3 sets of the Yoolax motorized blinds with remote, Blackout smart blinds motorized roller shades for our Master Bedroom, Living & Dining room. At first I only placed an order for the master bedroom by itself to see how they were. Delivery was fast and it took about a week. I setup the window blinds in the master bedroom and everything worked out well. Setup was easy and the blinds looked good. So we ordered 2 more matching sets (1 for the living room & 1 for the dining room). Once again shipping took about a week and they were both shipped together. (Did I mention they gave me a discount for ordering more than 1 set). I setup the living room blinds and they worked well and matched the good looks of the master bedroom blinds. Now the last window blinds were for the dining room. Setup was easy once again, however when the blinds fully opened I noticed there were 3 noticeable spots/stains on the window blinds fabric. I tried to wash out the spots/stains with cleaning solution and vinegar but I could not get the spots/stains out. I emailed Yoolax customer service to inquire how I can ship these back and get a replacement. Yoolax responded quickly (within 24 hours) and informed me that they would replace the blinds for free and ship it to me for free. Yoolax was great and their customer service was great as well. Any questions I had they would email me the answer within 24 hours. With 3 separate blinds I wanted them all to connect to the 1 remote control (Lightwirl - 60229) Instructions were confusing but this is how I finally figured out how to make 1 remote control connect to 3 different window blinds: Smart Shades Manual [58612] Remote Control - Motor Programming [Page 12] Enter Setting Mode 1. Hold “P1” for 5 seconds Green light flashing indicates setting mode 2. Choose the channel you want to set from “1-9” For example #1 should remain green (on) while the rest of the numbers are not green (off) ***Note: It will exit setting mode if hold “P1” for 5 seconds again or no operation for 3 minutes*** Next Step: Re-Pair the motor [Page 19] 1. Hold for 2 seconds——Blind jogs x 1 (up/down) 2. Press “P2” x 1—Blind jogs x 2 (up/down/up/down) 3. Press “P1” x 1——Setup complete now repeat for the other separate blinds. Overall, Yoolax has provided me with “Great” customer service and the 3 window blinds are great so far. There is also a 1 year warranty on the motor & battery. Lastly, I forgot to mention that I ordered the optional solar panel [60304] for each window blinds. So far the battery strength have been showing 100% full charged but I’ve only had these window blinds for the summer months so I am not sure how they will function during winter time. But I did connect the usb-c extension cord and strung it down the wall to the window still and if I do need to charge the battery I can just hook up a portable power bank to the usb-c cord.

Good Quality Product
As I write this review, I have had the shades installed for about a month. The product arrived carefully packed and in good condition. The build dimensions were spot-on, as I requested them, and fit correctly. The build quality was excellent, and the installation was effortless. It took me an hour to install two windows (one large, one small). My only hiccups were with the smartphone integration and the solar battery. On the smartphone integration, note that selecting the motor that works directly with Apple devices prevents you from having the valance covered in the same fabric (an issue with motor size), so they sent me the Zigbee motor instead (I really like having the valance wrapped in the same finish). To work with the phone using this motor, you need to add a Zigbee hub, which the manufacturer sent for a small fee after explaining. Setting that up was a bit of a pain - I am glad I have the physical remote as a backup because it sometimes does not connect. The other issue was the solar battery connector. The instructions are very sparse, so take it from me: the routing of the USB cable from the battery to the motor needs to be carefully chosen and taped to stay in place (I used Gorilla double-faced tape). If you fail to do this, the roller will eat up the USB cable and rip off the USB connector. I had to splice in a new USB cable (see pictures) to get my battery going after that happened (I am not sure the typical DIY handyperson would be ok with doing that; it required some soldering). So I docked it one star for these issues; I would have docked it two stars, but the customer support was excellent (all via messages, but responsive). I am happy with the result.

Beautiful blinds and amazing customer service
I have ordered two blinds for my remodeling project and tried them for about a month now. Both of them arrived in about 2 weeks which is awesome considering the current backup situation in the remodeling industry. We ordered 100% block out blinds. The quality of the fabric is good and it comes with fabric on both side. Keep in mind that the gap from left and right side of the blinds are not even. The light is still coming through unless you ordered the light blocker trim package. The installation is super easy. The instruction illustrated with side screws. But we screwed the hardware to the top of the ceiling (since our side wall material is steel) and it still works without any problem. We ordered dark shape but the color of the roller itself is white. So you will see mismatch contrast color (see picture). I wished it's black color to math the fabric tone otherwise I should have ordered the valance to cover it. The sound motor is loud when the room is very quiet in early morning. But we don't mind at all. We are more concerned about the smooth sound of the motor and hope it won't break. So far so good! The remote comes with the pre-configuration which means the product works right away after installation. It is great. However it is not easy when trying to reconfigure the position limit. First, there is no manual/instruction. Customer service provided the video which was not matched to my remote model. We searched the youtube video and found the might-be correct video to match to our remote model. We ended up following the video instruction five times to get the configuration works and we didn't even know what went wrong in our previous tries. I wish there is a written manual instead of video so it's easy to review the setup steps and troubleshot. Regardless Yoolax customer service is super helpful. It appears they are in a different time zone. I usually got the response in the morning pacific time. Overall we are satisfied with our purchase and planed to order more for our living room in the future. I highly recommend the product.

Great shades at a great price
We have purchased 3 shades so far, one for our patio door and two for our master bedroom. Super easy to install, color matched what we selected and the voice control works every time. I have installed many brands of shades in my line of work and these are very quiet just like the other more expensive brands. We will be purchasing more in the future.

Easy install, looks great
Install of the shade and solar panel total took about 15 minutes. Nice quiet operation of shade. Seems to be good quality materials. Looks great. Getting the gateway functioning was rough. The directions need much better development. For us, while we did activate the gateway and connect to Google Home, it is unlikely we will use that feature. The app seems pretty straight forward and works very well. We also really likes the remote that came with. We only have one power shade but remote also works like a charm. Highly recommend this product.

Continually loses connection with Alexa
UPDATE 4 (12/6/2020): I DEEPLY REGRET THIS PURCHASE! I've had these blinds for 4 months now and it's been nothing but a headache! They lose connection to the zigbee network multiple times per week (sometimes even multiple times per day). I've tried different Zigbee hubs to see if that would make things better, but it's always the same... My house is only 1,650 sq ft, and when the devices are connected they appear to have strong connections, but there's something just wrong with the motors and their zigbee radios... They never seem to hold their connection. There's nothing more irritating than wanting to close your shades and instead having to spend 5 minutes reconnecting the shade... --- Original Review: I was really looking forward to getting motorized shades that I could automate and control with Alexa and after exploring my options these had good reviews at a very reasonable cost. The ordering experience was great and after submitting my order Yoolax reached out to me to confirm my measurements. The shades arrived a full month earlier than estimated, which was awesome. Now the not so great part: - My shades have repeated lost connection (basically once a week) with Alexa and stop responding to voice commands and schedules - The valence on the shade makes it look like an old high-school projector screen (1st photo) - One of my shades had two 4 inch slices in it (4th photo) - Yoolax has to take 1-2 inches out of the width of the fabric portion of the shade to make room for the motor or something. They made me aware of this during the confirmation phase and I didn't think it would be an issue, but it totally is. The shades now leave 1/8 inch of the window visible on both sides and it looks bad and lets in quite a bit of light. (2nd and 3rd photo) UPDATE 1: After reaching out to Yoolax about the slice in the shade they offered to send replacement fabric. We'll see how that goes. UPDATE 2: (Aug 20 2020) Yoolax no longer had the fabric that I originally ordered and so they've offered a different fabric to replace the sliced one as well as a replacement for the matching window. Going to add a star for the support that they offered. (Going from 2 to 3) UPDATE 3: (Sept 1 2020) Yoolax sent me a replacement shade, moving the motor to the new shade was easy enough and the new fabric looks good. On another note, all of my shade continue to lose connection with Alexa which is a huge pain since re-connecting requires pressing a button on the motor which is well out of reach. Going to move this issue to the top of my cons list because it's so frustrating.

quality product; installation easy; attractive
We are "installation challenged" on blinds/curtains/shades so when theses went up quickly and easily, it was a relief. This is our second order for this product, for our new house and west-facing windows that needed black-out shades at certain times of day. But, our view out these windows is everything, so we needed something that would be out of sight when not needed. These are perfect. They do exactly what is advertised, block light, go up and down perfectly, look attractive and there isn't a product out there that we've found that can match the price for the quality. Also their customer service was quick and thorough, helping us through measurement questions. We would buy a third time if necessary. BTW, we avoided plug in cords by just using the solar plate, so nothing to hang or plug in to an outlet.
