Save-A-Deer Whistle

Works for me and my family. I live by these. When I got my first car in 1991, my insurance gave these out for free. Later if you wanted to purchase they charged $2 each. We have been blessed all these years. Every vehicle my kids buy, we install a deer whistle. I have a Escalade withe cameras but I still have a whistle. It works for us. My son just got aPrius and will attach the deer whistle. I’m so sorry it did not work for some but we all live by them. We live in rural Mississippi.

Brilliant layer of safety for me and my family. Inexpensive. Easy to install. Unobtrusive. Well made. Seems based on legit science.I’ve lived in deer country. Hitting a deer is no joke. Best strategy is avoid hitting them. This inexpensive item is a way better deal than the vehicle damage, personal injury, and hassle after hitting a deer. I have them on all our vehicles.

December 2015 my fiancée bought a 2016 model Elantra GT for me, it was my first ever brand new car. Just under two weeks later, while driving home from work after midnight, a deer that I never even saw because it was out of my peripheral line of sight...ran full on straight into the driver side of my brand new car as it attempted to bolt across a city street. It impacted dead center, where my shoulder and left arm was located, of the front driver door. It then rolled down the side of the car additionally damaging the rear driver door and busting the rear hub cap into several pieces. Blood and fur were left all over the side of the car. Luckily I was ok however the deer was not. It resulted in over $3,000 in damage. I was sick and afraid of being blind sided by another deer.After the car went in the shop to be repaired, I immediately started looking for deer whistles that might work to prevent this from happening again. I found and ordered this Save-A-Deer whistle for every automobile we owned at the time. It was mounted on my car as soon as the whistle came in and as soon as my car returned from the body shop. It has been on there ever since.So far I have not yet had any more collisions with deer. I work evenings 45 minutes from home and am always driving at night. I see tons of deer year round where I live. The deer definetly seem to hear me coming now. They always either lift their heads and turn it toward the direction from which I am approaching and stand motionless or they complete turn and move away or sometimes even run away in the opposite direction from the road.Before the whistles were installed deer never seemed to pay attention to my car or more often than not they would attempt to bolt out into the road in front of me. That does not happen anymore so I am a believer in the whistles.This last whistle I purchased is for a new truck my fiancé bought for himself. He hit a deer on two different occasions in his old truck before installing any deer whistles. After installing the Save-A-Deer whistle on the old truck, he had no more collisions with deer. It made him a believer in the whistles as well and he actually asked me if I would order this last whistle for him as a birthday present. He put it on his new truck as soon as it was delivered.This makes six that I've bought so far. For every new automobile we buy, a new whistle is one of the first purchases I make for them. I even put one on my son's car. They stay put once they are on, they do not fall off. We wash the automobiles by hand and I also frequently run mine through automatic touchless car washes and the whistles have not come off yet. I haven't had any problems with them getting clogged up with dirt or bugs so that hasn't been an issue for me. I love the slim line profile of these whistles, they easily fit in the front grill so they do not take away from the look of the car...you seriously can not see them unless you really look closely.

I've had one of these on the last three cars we've owned plus a truck. We live on an island with lots of deer. All I can say is that I've never had an issue with deer jumping out in front of me with this on the car. The only time that happened was when we had bought a new car and I hadn't yet bought a new one of these. So who knows if they actually work, but for the price it's a very cheap insurance policy!

Can I hear it? NO! Does it work? Seems to! Luckily I have not encountered Deer but I do see Rabbits running away from the road well before my vehicle is close and also see Owls take off away from side road fencing.

I live about 45 mins outside Atlanta towards Chatanooga where you can get a lot more land for the money.....for now. It's easy for me to see just how much ppls growth is impeding on the deers habitats. I got these originally because we have had our fair share of encounters with them luckily without it ever being physical. Just close calls. The first set I bought really seemed to make a difference. The deer simply just stayed put looking around with that "WTH is that noise" look. I was sold! My sister in law hit a deer on her way home from our house one night so she was obviously the first person i wanted to get one of these for.Here's the problem since installing the new batch of these whistles on two brand new 2023 vehicles (hers and ours) both vehicles have been involved with deer collisions... Both times the vehicles were traveling in execess of the required 35mphs. Luckily quick reaction time on my part (automatic brakes didnt even activate) only resulted in a small crack in our bumper and no sensor or camera damage. My sister in law was not so lucky. Her second deer collision resulted in only cosmetic damage but enough that her front bumper, hood, both quarter panels, fenders cameras sensors etc have to be repaired or replaced. In her case because she was in another state when it happened we don't know if the whistle adhesive failed and it had fell off prior to the collision. In my case it was still exactly where I placed it after the impact.Listen, it kills me to hurt these animals but these animals can also kill us if hit going to fast. I'm not sure if I want to try this product again. Then again maybe so many ppl have them now the dumb deer just ignore the sound and decide to go for it instead of staying put like they used too.

I have hit a couple deer while living in Montana. I decided to give this a shot and this has been the 3rd set I have put on my vehicles. I feel like it really does work.
