I ordered this testing kit because it looked to be easier and less involved than collecting samples and filling out forms for my state's Ag Extension service. They no longer offer online retrieval of your reports - you have to wait for them to be mailed/e-mailed to you. According to the website, this is a temporary thing, but I suspect it's been temporary for a while now.Other than that surprise, they provided a nicely organized, detailed report of my soil sample in PDF format. Sample was mailed 11/6, received 11/9, and report provided 11/19, so 13 day turnaround. I'm pleased with the results, but will go to the extra effort to try the Ag Extension version next time, as the comparable test from them (in TX) is significantly more cost effective.

Head scratcher. Going to submit for refund. Never got results. Great idea, horrible execution. Pure dice roll.Updated: Finally received my results back on Feb 26th via email. From the email it appears the company had a machine or device go down. Ok, got it. And if only we were informed that via their website then I would have understood the delay. Things happen. I get it. Changed my rating to 4 stars... only reason it’s not a 5 star this time was lack of communication on their part. I will do business with them again.

This does a great job of analyzing not only the NPK but also micronutrients, and they give a recommendation for both organic and standard supplements. The only thing I was hoping to see was an indication of how much organic matter the soil had or needed.

Easy and convenient. Could have used more information about my soil beyond the nutrient analysis…like what does this mean for me (in more layman’s terms).

I didn't test the product against any benchmark readings, since it's hard to know what control to use. But I would assume that a lab can do a lot better than any home based kit. I have one raised garden bed where the plants aren't doing too well. For that bed, the Soil Savvy test showed very low levels of nitrogen, high levels of phosphorus, and fairly low levels of potassium. I have added amendments to correct N and K. The test results also indicated a low level of boron which I will try correct as well. Easy to use test. Pretty quick results.

I built new beds and had new compost/top soil trucked in from a fancy soil place in town. I planted everything from starts and they just sat there for weeks without doing anything! I couldn't figure it out as the soil should have had adequate nutrition. This kit showed me that I had perfect fertilization for everything except nitrogen. Based on that I bought a bag of blood meal (15-0-0) and the garden took off! The kit was really easy to use, came quickly and I had my results within a week. Count me impressed

I've seen reviews from others who got their results early, so maybe this works sometimes. Mine is late and getting later. A warning - they have email and phone contacts listed, but they do not bother responding to them. If something goes wrong you will have no way of getting in contact with them to straighten it out. I'm up to three phone messages and two emails over a week, with no actual responses. Don't use.

This little kit was very easy to use. I mixed several samples from my yard together and used that as my base for testing. The company was quick to respond to emails and seemed happy to answer any questions. We'll see how well their advice pays off in the coming year. Excited to get my yard in shape!
