Old school teacher
So easy to use. The post I repaired was actually broken completely off from the cement. I used three of these to secure it back on. I’m 66 years old. The thought of having to dig another hole, and mix cement and replace the entire section made me tired! These worked perfectly and were super easy to do. And I did it by my self. Don’t know how long they will hold but it’s good for now and very sturdy. I live in the panhandle of Texas and we are expecting 80 mile an hour gusts today. So let’s see how this stands up!

Wow, IT WORKS
Gate post rotted, the one with the latch. Just getting someone to replace the post very hard and super expensive. Last fence post I had replaced cost $350 (2 hours work, plus post and concrete) over two years ago. Saw a YouTube video about these and decided to give them a try. Wow! The rotted post is not rocking. It is as if the whole post was replaced. Very easy to install. I am disabled and did the install while sitting on my mobility scooter. The instructions say to use number 10 screws, but the Amazon description does not. I used #10 2 1/2 exterior wood screws and a hammer drill to drive them into the post. Total time to install, for this very senior person, was 20 minutes at most. I used a 4 pound hammer to drive the metal staps into the ground. I do not know how long this repair will last, but I suspect it will be years. Several monts later. Just did a second post, this one is number 5 post of 15 for this fence. Took less than 10 minutes and this post is the most stable. Someday the whole fence will need to be replaced, but that is years away. In the mean time, Post Buddy keeps the fence strong.

Can work, can be tricky.
Not hard to use, not easy to use. Stability offered depends on the post and the concrete as much as anything.

Quick fix for fence post
Really good repair for a wooden fence post embedded in concrete that is broken at the ground level. I had a fence post that was in good shape except at the ground level where it rotted, this is a treated 4"x4" post and was in good shape except for where it wasn't. The kit comes with 4 straps which would be enough to repair 2 fence posts. You drive the strap into the crack between the concrete and the face of the fence post on the side of the post perpendicular to the direction of the fence, the strap will bend enough for you to be able to hit it hard without the post getting in the way. It took some good strikes, probably 50 or more, with a heavy hammer to get it well seated into the crack, the process is repeated on the opposite side of the post then you plumb the post and drive long screws through the holes in the top part of the strap into the good wood above the rot and you're done. The result is very solid and only took about 20 minutes to complete. The best part is I did not have to remove the post, or any part of the fence, really happy with the result and it looks okay, and I think this repair will last for many years. Great idea, wish I had come up with it.

Easy and works great
If you like breaking loose fence sections and digging up concrete and pulling out fence posts, then this is not for you. But if you don't want to spend a whole lot of time repairing broken fence posts, I suggest using these guys. I have fixed fences posts a number of different ways, and this is by far the quickest and easiest way I have tried so far. It does a great job of restoring fence posts to usable condition. I have an extra set on hand for the nest time I need it.

Good for Certain Scenarios
I've used these twice now. Once the post was actually rotted completely away and rails, etc. were keeping it in place over the hole/remainder of post. It worked pretty well, considering the post is literally broken. I would suggest using these BEFORE your posts get to that state...These rely on the post having shrunk away from the concrete ball...Because they are made to drive into that space...If your post hasn't shrunk and the ball itself is loose in the hole, then these won't help..These are nicely made and super handy to use and safe as even the tips are blunted/squared off. Holes are a tad small if you want to use GRK cabinet screws or RSS screws, which are popular, and a step up in strength from standard deck screws...Of course, you can also use 16d nails instead...Be sure you have a 4lb hand sledge for driving these...Anything else is either too light or too heavy/large...A 4lb hand sledge is perfect..Won't you be glad when that new fence gets built?!! I know I will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best Ever and Easy to Install
We purchased this product a couple of times now. Our fence posts rots on the base and this product saved us money and time. We used to have to either replace the entire post (too expensive) or cut the bottom of the post and put brick/cement underneath (not stable and time consuming). Highly recommended.

I could not hammer them between the post and concrete as advertised.

I was little skeptical, but the steel is thicker than I expected and seems to work well. The top of the concrete was lower than the ground so the post rotted. I added 2 braces and build up the concrete to be above ground to prevent further deterioration. Some posts were not as bad, so I added 1 brace to the front and added concrete. Time will tell if this works. 2 of the posts are too far gone and I will do a proper replacement pulling the concrete up,.installing new post and concrete. If the posts are not too far gone, this system should work. I was also surprised that it was not that hard to hammer the brace in, I used only a regular hammer.

I used this to fix a fence post that had completely rotted through at the ground. The gate was attached to that post, and it wasn't working very well. With these steel pieces pounded into the ground, on adjacent sides of the post, the fence is now decently solid, and the gate works well. It has lasted for two years so far. We still have to replace the fence at some point, but it's allowed us to defer the costly fence replacement project.

Once you hammer in the brackets, use a big sludge hammer, make sure you screw it in with proper outdoor fence coated screws. Once you apply the screws into the fence post, the post will becomeso tight you think you had just installed new posts, no joke. I’ve tried other fence brackets from Home Depot & Rona. They are garbage compared to these brackets. Thank-you Post Buddy, hats off to the inventor of this item.

I tried other post menders and these are the easiest and best way to repair that broken fence post. Bit expensive but they do the job great. Bought the 4 post set as it made them cheaper to buy and will probably need more down the road anyways.
