Packed with features! Beginners best
I purchased this Sonic drone as a Christmas gift for my 9 year old.Great addition to his collection. It’s easy to setup. He likes that it’s equipped with multiple speed options. His iPhone 14 fits perfectly on the remote which is comfortable for him to use with his small hands.the picture quality I found to be vivid and clear. He gets about 10 minutes of fly time and it recharges in about 30 minutesPacked with features. The flipping is super cool to watch. He’s yet to get bored of it.Overall. I am extremely happy with this purchase. Terrific price.

Decent first drone toy for kids
My 6 year old and I are enjoying the drone so far, the only downside currently is we are not able to use the camera as the manual got displaced and not sure which app to download on phone to be able to use it. Could somebody please provide the name of the app on Google playstore? Thanks!

Loads of fun
I'm going to start with the negatives:1. A tool was included and I had no idea of its purpose. All screws that came with the drone are phillipsor cross-tip so I don't understand the purpose of this tool.2. Following the instructions, remove the screw to the battery compartment. Luckily I had screwdriversenough for this screws. I foresee these screws stripping from continued use since the battery onlylasts 10 minutes or so.3. Step 8, attach the protective guards according to the pic. I opened the package with the guards, landing legs and the tool. After I did, I thought, these guards fall off easily. There should've been adifferent way to secure the guards or are they just designed to fall off.4. Step 8 part 2, attach the legs with the screws. I thought, WHAT SCREWS?? I looked in the wrapper thatI so casually opened, no screws. I looked on the counter where I opened the package and found thetiniest screw I'd ever seen. I got on my knees and started looking on the kitchen floor with a flashlight.I found the other 3 in various places. I'm disappointed that the screws did not come in anotherwrapper. Even big screws are put in separate wrappers from other components. I installed the landinglegs and moved on.5. After I finished installing the camera and battery, I took the drone for a test flight. The guards keptfalling off. I was so disappointed in the construction of this drone. I went to look at reviews to see ifothers were as upset as I was. One review mentioned 8 tiny screws. I only had 4. 8 tiny screws wouldmake sense. I turned off all the lights, got a flashlight, got on my knees and began searching mykitchen floor. I found the first one right next to me, another about a foot away, another about 10 feetaway and the last one a few inches away from my trash can. I had tossed the wrapper that containedthe guard, legs and screws in the trash. Luckily the screws fell out of the bag. Of course, you can't hearthe screws hit the floor as they are so tiny with next to no weight. Anyway, I secured the guard to thedrone. According to step 8, I'm supposed to use the tool that came with the package (see pics), that'simpossible. The head of that too is round. Now, the good:1. I Absolutely Love this drone! It's my first. I played with it for a while until I started getting the hangof it. I decided to let my wife play with it since she was watching me and smiling, sometimes laughing, sometimes terrified of all the near crashes.2. My wife Absolutely Loves this drone! When she played with it, she was amazing. I explained things toher before she started and she started 95% better than I did. She got the hang of it like she'd beenusing it for days.3. The flashing lights are great way for the drone to communicate with you. The lights let you knowwhen the drone is one, connected or not connected. You have slow and fast flashing.4. So much fun once it is put together.5. I like that there's an LED on the USB stick that lets you know when the battery is fully charged. Youcan easily see the charge status so you do not overcharge the battery for too long.Wishlist:1. I wish there was another battery or a way to procure another.2. I wish you could charge the battery without having to unscrew the lid every time. I wish you couldplug directly into the drone to charge the battery. This drone could've been an easy 5-star. Flying the drone itself is 5-star. Putting it together with the worthless tool (see pic) and the tiny screws not even separately packaged so you don't loose them, 1-star.

Great starter drone but supervision still required
The media could not be loaded. I am impressed at the quality of this Sonic drone. I would consider it a good starter unit. Performing a test flight, I found that it handles wind very well and is extremely stable. This is in part due to the propellers used.Adult supervision should still be provided for any child wishing to learn how to fly and operate a drone. This is especially true when it comes time to both charge and install the flight battery. There is not a protective case around the battery like other drones. It is just a basic lipo cell that plugs into the provided USB charger. So, you will want to make sure the cell does not get accidentally punctured. There is also a bit of care needed when installing the flight battery. If I could change one thing it would be the location of the camera and the battery door. The camera slides into a mount and then plugs into the bottom of the drone on the battery door itself. So, when you go to install the battery and plug it in, you will find that you cannot open the battery door with the camera in place and plugged in. If you unplug the camera, you can swing the door up with the camera on it, but this is not good long term for the life of the plug.I found the video to be basic and somewhat of a lag during rapid movements. Keeping in mind that this is a beginner drone this is acceptable. One “pro tip” I can provide is to make sure that you use the supplied screws to attach the landing gear. There is the temptation to not use them because the landing gear fits well and stays in place. On my unit, this was only true until vibration eventually caused one of them to fall off when I was making my final approach to land! But even with three it still landed fine. You can see in my video how well Sonic performs. I would recommend this for a beginner.
