The Johnscliffe Kathmandu is a lightweight, comfortable and water resistant ‘approach trekking shoe’. ‘Approach’ shoes are hybrid footwear, combining the characteristics of both trekking and rock climbing shoes. They cannot perform perfectly as trekking or climbing shoes and may not be suitable for extreme expeditions, but as an in between for added agility on uneven ground. The Kathmandu is suitable for walking long distances encompassing the trekking aspect. Features a synthetic nubuck and nylon mesh upper with a Jontex waterproof, weatherproof & breathable membrane lining. Also features textile mesh lining for comfort. The heavily padded collar and tongue provide superior comfort. The pull on tabs on the heel and tongue allow for easy on/off wear. The rubber/phylon sole, has super grip yet very flexible. The sticky rubber sole delivers excellent traction on steep and rocky terrain.

Pleasantly Surprised
Initially thought they were a bit bigger and heavier than expected. After wearing for a good few miles I am delighted with these shoes. Sturdy and very comfortable, nice wide toe box and good grippy sole. Great value for money.

Wide fitting Shoe
Traditional fairly heave walking shoe. Where this shoe really scores is that it is Wide which is a must for me. Have done a few short (4.5 mile) walks so far and shoes offer good support and are comfortable. If you have wide feet, give them a go.

They passed inspection.
Bought for my son who is 'difficult' about shoes. They arrived quickly and he tried them on and declared that he was 'satisfied' with them. High praise indeed!

Good value for money. I've had 5 or 6 pairs (keep a pair in both working sites). However with the latest pair they do not appear to be as waterproof as previos pairs.
