Try it!
It may seem cliche, but this product changed my life in a lot of ways. I've been a nail biter ever since I can remember. I knew it was a bad habit and I would try and kick it every couple years. I would use fake nails to create a physical barrier to allow the real nails to grow, but then I'd somehow go right back to it once they came off.The big motivator for me this time around was my 2 year old daughter. We started noticing that she was biting her nails, and I felt horrible knowing that she had learned the behavior from watching me. I bought this after reading some reviews and while the stuff is absolutely vile, it has worked miracles for us.I bought some piggie paint brand nail polish and used this as a "top coat" and then treated my daughter to a manicure date (both dry super quick which was important!). I explained to her that it would taste bad if she put her fingers in her mouth, and then laid her down for a nap. Maybe 10-15 minutes into her nap, she starts crying so I went to check on her. She was upset because she had indeed put her fingers in her mouth and had the taste in her mouth. I got her a cup of milk, which is the only thing that has worked to remove this taste, and got her back to bed. Again, I explained that she needed to keep her fingers out of her mouth.I wanted my daughter to stop this habit before it affects her health in the way it has mine. I have jaw problems and headaches due to how much I would bite my nails and I would hate to send her down that road. This product has not only helped her, but it has also stopped my 30 year habit in its tracks. The flavor is so bad that if I even touched my face/lips, it would make it to my mouth. My husband even kissed me a few times and could taste it! I havent had to wear it or put it on my daughter now for several weeks because it really helped us kick the habit. Instead we spend time together taking care of our nails and deciding what color polka dots she wants on hers. :) <3

Effective and disgusting, lol
Received 12/02/21, so it's been a little over 7 weeks. I've tried products like this before but they were milder in flavor, easy to get used to and ignore. This one... no, absolutely no ignoring it. lol I gave it one star for flavor, but it should be grody, right? It's supposed to deter you from putting your fingers in your mouth. A good rule of thumb, if you workout make sure you do not touch your face. It will transfer to your face and run straight down to your mouth when you sweat. lol It's pretty gross. I used this for about a week and a half and barely used 1% of the bottle so I'm giving the bottle to my sister. As you can see in the after picture, my nails are better, especially my thumb nails which I had really screwed up pretty bad with biting. They were super sore all the time. I highly recommend, but not for kids. I saw a couple reviews of people buying it for kids and as someone who has been biting her nails since she was 4, do not buy for kids. They rub their faces, pets, eat with abandon, don't but it for kids. It DOES transfer if you're not careful, regardless if it's dry. Also, make sure you get a cuticle oil to stop yourself from picking dry skin as your cuticles heal.

So far works for me. I recommend
It's been 3 days and haven't bitten my nails, I've tried but the flavor stopped me. The flavor is not as bad as people are saying, they are being over sensitive. I do agree with others saying the taste of the flavor does travel onto other things that fingers touch. Suggest you try not to eat with your hands. I put it on after I put in my contacts just to prevent it from transferring to my eyes, I have never gotten it in my eye but I'm just being cautious. I still suggest the product

4 years later, still terrified to put my fingernails anywhere near my mouth
Da Rules:- Use this product sparingly. A little bit goes a long way- Whatever you do, DO NOT get it on the skin of your fingertips- Do not eat any airline snacks where you have to reach your fingers into a tiny bag and fish around for the little treats, transferring the product to your food and forever instilling a fear of peanuts or pretzels- Do not go out to dinner and buy a big expensive plate of chicken wings and bbq ribs then eat them with your fingers, replacing the smoky sweet bbq flavor with the most concentrated chalky metallic flavor ever conceived which no amount of Coke Zero can rinse out- Do not absent-mindedly pick a peppercorn out of your teeth after eating the ruined bbq that you were starving to get because you couldn't even finish your airplane snacks- DO be happy when, after returning to your hotel room and starting to read your email and with the stress of seeing the 2783 emails that came in during the day while you were traveling, you go to anxiously gnaw on your fingernail then freeze in terror realizing that you almost stuck nuclear waste in your mouth yet stopped yourself at the last moment2 Months Later... I used the product for 3 weeks, then stopped when I thought it worked. It did. I am cured of a thoroughly nasty and embarrassing habit.14 months later...still cured. Never even tempted. Now my problem is forgetting to cut my nails. I still have 95% of the bottle left.3 years later...still cured. Still have trouble keeping up with trimming my nails, but using nail clippers when I do.4 years later...still cured. Still have most of the bottle left. My nails look great.

Not great for toddlers
I have used this nail biting polish on my 3 year old son for several weeks now. It initially stopped him from putting his fingers in his mouth due to the bitter taste. However, it wears off very quickly and a few hours (or a couple hand washings) later he was able to bite his nails without the bitter taste. I have to reapply the polish multiple times a day (like every hour or so). This might work better for adults who actually themselves want to stop biting their nails. The one pro is that is dries very quickly which is nice.
