This is one to beat on value.
I am really impressed so far. You are getting a lot of bang for your bucks here. Build quality is impressive and leaves little to be desired. Performance is adequate for what it is and will cope well with most office, browsing tasks, media consumption and basic photo editing. I tested 4k video on youtube and it was faultless, playing the 4k video fluently and buffering it ahead at the same time for uninterrupted experience. I got what I would call version 5 of this laptop with latch door at the back for easily upgrade-able storage using m.2 sata 2242 SSD. You can use the better value 2280 with easy mod after you remove the bottom cover. Keyboard feels nice to type on, touchpad is large, responsive and very nice to work with. Using gestures to scroll, control sound volume, and to go back and forward in browser navigation is seamless. The highlight, apart from excellent build quality, is the Full HD (1080p) IPS screen. It is just lovely to look at, with more than sufficient brightness indoors, perfect viewing angles and great colours with fairly deep blacks (good contrast ratio). Unfortunately there is some back light bleed at the very bottom of the screen which is visible on dark backgrounds with higher levels of brightness setting and in dark environment but not a deal breaker at all and not bad enough to knock one start down as the value you are getting here is incredible when compared to competition. Wifi signal could have been stronger as my old Lenovo X220 is having a better reception, however you are getting the newest and fastest A/C standard which is not all that usual in budget laptops. Very few things can be improved upon at this price, I got mine for £215. Power supply could have had longer lead, full SD card slot would have been nicer than microSD and backlit keyboard would have made it perfect. But one can't nit pick too much at this price point. The form factor is just perfect for me. It is really slim therefore easy to slip into backpack or other forms of luggage. I think I am going to upgrade it with m.2 2280 SSD and do a clean install with USB flash loaded with windows 10 using Microsoft's official windows download tool. You won't be disappointed with this laptop and will appreciate the really great build quality which gives this laptop a very premium feel and catapults it well above competition at this price point. Btw. many review were pointing that it does not have a print screen key, well now it has through FN shortcut key.edit: 25.1.18Update and further evaluation. Love how one can control sound volume with three finger gesture and similarly. Well, let me update you here a bit. I just put the laptop to sleep unwillingly for the first time second ago, due to awkward power key placement. Not too bad overall since this was the very first time that happened. Ok, the build quality is not all that great after all when you find things like screen peeling off at the right side. You can kind of press it back and it will stick for a moment. I have solution on mind already. I am going to carefully inject a super gel glue there to have it stick permanently. It appears that this could more of a tinkers laptop. I did upgrade the storage with WD Blue 250GB 3D NAND m.2 2280 SSD, This upgrade was quite straight forward for a former PC technician, and I believe that the SSD can achieves its maximum potential on this intel apollo lake platform . Check the screen shot of Crystal Disk Benchmark results I include. I also noticed one dead pixel near the middle of the screen. I thought that it was't there initially and that it has developed during the first few hours of using the laptop. It has bothered me for a moment only. I got over it and did not knock the star still. Btw, I voided the warranty by upgrading to 2280. Upgrade to 2242 would not void the warranty as the screw to open the latch is not protected by any seal like one you have to unscrew to lift the whole back cover. That is the only way to upgrade to m.2 2280. You don't have to upgrade the internal storage at all if you only ever need to use this as a streaming, surfing and light office platform etc. 64GB will be enough to run Windows 10 with office and store few documents. You can always use microSD to add more of slower performing storage if needed, usb flash memory. I did upgrade the storage because I do photography and video. The lack of backlit keyboard is not all that bad as the keys can be reasonably well distinguished, even in total darkness, with the srceen enlightening them just well enough. Ok, so some flaws transpired after few days of usage. Yet I am not going to knock a star down although I was close to that. The main reason is that I love that screen and the form factor. So nice to look at, so easy to travel with, so slim. The fanless design is welcomed. The bluetooth works great and so does the 3.5 (I just put the laptop to sleep for the second time :-) mm jack - the audio output quality is great. I don't regret the purchase...

Issues with Trackpad and keyboard was Italian or Spanishversion
All worked ok during the setup process when the laptop was resting on a flat surface however as soon as you picked it up and the body flexed ever so slightly you got menu boxes popping up on screen and the trackpad would stop working for about 30 seconds. The menus were popping up in both Word (Find and Replace) and Excel (Go to). After this and with these programs closed the trackpad was very glitchy and unresponsive.Fortunately I was able to return it and order another one....however this 2nd one turned up with a Spanish or Italian keyboard layout. Returned this one too and bought a 3rd....This too came with a Spanish or Italian keyboard despite me messaging the seller to ask that they send one with a US or UK keyboard layout. This 3rd one also had the F9 key stuck down. This too has been returned now and I've given up with this seller. Shame as the spec of this laptop is very good for the price.

Disappointed in another shoddy product.
This laptop looks great but as far as perfomance, has been a disappointment.I had read the reviews for this product and had noted the issues some had experienced with such things as the keypad, the reception for wifi and the length of time it was taking to connect to websites. Overall though the reivews were very good and it appeared that the glitches were able to be ironed out.I logged on with this product this evening and immediately had problems with the keyboard where it appeared there had been some registery corruption as many of the keys do not translate to what is actually typed out. So for example, typing '@' for an email address was only achieved through trial and error , finding it eventually under the number '2' or ''. I duly read the instruction book again and noted that they advise you could be downloading the wrong country option for the laptop, so ensured I chose 'UK' as my locality. This didn't work with the keyboard when used continuing to give out random alternative symbols. I then tried U.S.A language option, with the same outcome.Internet also keeps cutting in and out, with an apparent ability to only connect within 5-10 feet.Screen resolution is great and cannot be faulted but customers of both Amazon and this seller or manufacturer should certainly not have to problem solve a brand new piece of machinery on the day of delivery. This is very disappointing and this along with other poor product and service issues encountered with Amazon recently leave me seriously contemplating closing the account and just going back to the high street. At least on the high street, accessibility or remedy of poor or faulty products is an easier process . You can only rest on your laurals for so long Amazon.
