The media could not be loaded.  These poles came wrapped in cellophane, bent around each other. I opened the package thinking that they'd take at least a little bit of effort to straighten out, but no - the (presumably aluminum?) core is so thin and soft, that with barely any effort, I can bend them with one hand. The bit that sticks into the soil bends like paper, and the only thing preventing the rest of it from bending just as easily is the thick layer of coir wrapped tightly around it. In the photo, you can see that it's only about as thick as the nub on the end of a double A battery.These will be fine for small vining plants like small/young Pothos or varieties of Philodendron that stay smaller longer, like classic heartleaf or Micans. They would also be just fine for small varieties of ivy that you want to train and shape, but these will virtually NEVER be appropriate for a Monstera Deliciosa since by the time it needs staking it will be much too large and heavy for these poles.For the little money I doesn't on them, I'll just use them for some of my tinier vines rather than go through the hassle of returning.

These moss poles are smaller and thinner than I expected. The moss poles I've purchased at my local plant stores are much sturdier and are capable of connecting to each other to make a longer pole. I'll use these, but won't buy them again.
