Schluter Set Thin...unmodified.
My opinion is based on very limited experience. I've only used Schluter products twice and it perfect both times. So, it did what it was supposed to do. I'd use it again. Incidentally, I used both, modified and unmodified.

Unmodified thin-set was the recommended mortar for my tile job; and it was unavailable everywhere else. I followed the instructions to the LETTER, and I could not be more satisfied with the product.

Know the difference between modified and unmodified thinset before reviewing
To all of the reviews stating this is not any better than normal thin set. It's not better. It's completely different. The key is in a modified vs unmodified thinset. Dont buy this for a standard, straight forward tile job. Go with the cheaper stuff. This unmodified thinset is made for a specific purpose. To use in situations where the back of the surface is completely water tight. The reason this is the case is in the way that unmodified thinset dries. It can dry in situations where water and air won't be able to permeate the back layer. Normal thinset dries. This thinset chemically cures. So it does not need air or an escape for water evaporation to dry.It is specifically designed for Kerdi and other types of water proofing membranes. It is not a standard thinset. Like I said above, if you are not using a water proof membrane system, or putting it onto some other kind of completely water tight layer, then you do not need this type of thinset.

DO NOT BUY THIS
We bought Shluter's Kerdi board to build a shower and decided to use their thinset thinking that would be a good combination. I was absolutely wrong. This is the worst thinset I have ever attempted to use. I say attempted because I gave up after 4 tiles and removed it all from the wall. The sand in this thinset is huge and even following their mix directions exactly, the result was the equivalent of chunky peanutbutter that had been in a freezer. I bought Latricrete 272 and installed all the tile with ease. Schluter should stick to making substrates and give up on trying to make thinset
