ALEKO Automatic Retractable Patio Awning with Motorized Crank - LED Lights, Gray-White, 10x8 feet

Very big mistake to buy this awning. Installation was difficult but with the help of family we got through it. Looked nice. And the second time we opened it and retracted it something happened to the motor and the awning shot out damaging the arms and plastic gears and parts of motor flew out all over. Lucky no one was hurt. Do not want a replacement from Aleko and we were told to send it back at our cost for shipping plus we will have to pay 15% stocking fee. Have been trying to reach Aleko for two days but not returning my calls. We need to ship all damaged pieces by May 27 to get a refund. Very disappointed with Amazon for selling such an inferior product.

So honestly, this is probably a 4* product, but I realize if I give it that rating it hurts them. So let me give a fairly candid review.I was considering buying an awning from a large company for around $4,000, with install adding another 15 - 20%. I then saw this same item for less than a quarter of that, and figured it was worth the risk.Quality wise, the awning is pretty solid - not quite as nice in terms of finishings and build as others, but plenty good enough. The instructions though are terrible - make sure you watch the Youtube videos instead. What's weird is that their customer service has been incredible, doesn't appear outsourced, and was incredibly knowledgeable about the product. Honestly don't understand why they don't take a few hours and generate a better instruction manual considering that's where a lot of the complaints were, and frankly almost scared me out of buying it.Anyways, if you have one or two friends, it's really not that hard to assemble, and if you have a good drill, not hard to mount. And it looks great, functions perfectly - no complaints!

Look elsewhere. I purchased the Aleko Awning because of the price. I should have just bought a higher quality awning. The Aleko Awning comes in thousands of pieces in multiple plastic bags. The instructions are extremely difficult to make out and decipher. You most have to go by the pictures. Thousands of nuts/bolts and washers to be assembled including electrical wiring for the motor and LED lights. It is an EXTREMELY LONG PROCESS and unless you have help will take a few days.The awning support brackets on the arms are made of a aluminum that cracked and completely shattered upon opening. The motor deployed the awning at a ridiculous speed, snapping the springs and mounting bolts of the Awning off of the house. The awning came out way to fast and is now garbage. Beyond and repair.Please if you made it this far,save yourself the time and money. Do your homework and look for another product.This is a dangerous product.

Got it assembled and its ready to install on the house. Instructions are very basic and should probably include details about which direction to assemble the arms and whether or not the arm should face up or down. I'm mechanically inclined so I was able to figure it out. But, even I had to redo a couple of things. So, anyone who's mechanically challenged will probably not fair as well.

Watch video! Watch video! Ya the video is outdated and the instructions are horrible. Expect at least a full day 10+ hours of installation or split it up over two like I did. Was missing parts and now it's my job to identify what was missing. Product tore as soon as it was retracted first go around. I like it but wish I would have just spent the money for a better brand. Brackets literally snapped off and hit me in the head... Ouch! Customer service is ridiculous... I identified what I needed but now they want part numbers and pictures. Thanks.... Add to your pathetic broken product and worthless poorly translated Chinese English instruction. At least my house stays cooler but it looks like crap.

My husband and I put this item together using instructions that came with it, some parts were a little confusing but we got through it and it is up and working great.

First, it was extremely hard to assemble based on the tiny letters and figures in the manual. Believe me, I do a lot of assembling, and this was the most difficult I've ever seen. Then, I found out the crank does not work and the awning does not retract. One of the arms is broken. Called customer service and they don't have ETA for the parts. It may take 8 weeks, which will be after the Summer, rendering the whole awning useless this year. I am considering returning it, but removing it from the wall and disassembling it's going to be a lot of work. I was left with two terrible options. I still have hope they will fix it in time but I definitively recommend caution before buying this awning.

it’s ok i’m not crazy about it. was very complicated to put together but since I had to pay a professional to put it together. i’ll keep it up!

This is the worst product electric motor is now shot, I can not close awning, it's stuck open and I can't close it manually

Un peu complexe pour l'installation mais le produit final est comme sur la photo et encore mieux. Je suis très satisfaite du produit. Beau rapport qualité-prix.

Installation wasn't bad at all if you watch the YouTube videos and paper instructions. The only material that was lacking was the bracket installation. I understand that you can have different structures it can be mounted to, but some examples of wood installation or brick installation would have gone a long way. Other than that I'd recommend this product with the performance thus far. Perhaps in a few mo ths I'll have a different opinion, but so far it's been great.
