5 Stars - Fast, Reliable, and Excellent Value for Performance
The Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD has been an outstanding upgrade for my PC, offering impressive speed, reliability, and an excellent price-to-performance ratio. I’ve been using it as my primary storage for both gaming and productivity, and it has performed beyond expectations.Performance:The P3 Plus supports PCIe Gen 4, and while it’s not the absolute fastest Gen 4 drive available, its performance is remarkable for the price range. With sequential read speeds up to 5000 MB/s and write speeds up to 4200 MB/s, it handles data-heavy tasks with ease. Whether it’s transferring large files, booting up my system, or loading games, everything feels snappy and responsive. In day-to-day usage, applications open almost instantly, and the reduced load times in games are very noticeable.Reliability and Endurance:Crucial is known for producing reliable storage solutions, and the P3 Plus is no exception. With a TBW rating of 440TB (Terabytes Written), the drive is built to handle a significant amount of data over its lifespan. The 5-year limited warranty further adds to the confidence I have in its longevity. Additionally, this drive utilizes Micron 3D NAND technology, which is not only power-efficient but also contributes to the drive’s long-term reliability.Thermal Management:Even under heavy workloads, the P3 Plus maintains stable temperatures. I installed it on a motherboard with a heatsink over the M.2 slot, and even during extended gaming sessions or heavy file transfers, the temperatures remain well within safe operating ranges. This ensures sustained performance without throttling, which is key for those pushing their systems with demanding applications.Ease of Installation:Installing the P3 Plus was a breeze thanks to its M.2 2280 form factor. It slid easily into the motherboard, and the setup through the BIOS was straightforward. Crucial also offers Acronis True Image cloning software, which made migrating my OS and files from my previous drive simple. This is a great tool for users upgrading their storage without having to perform a fresh OS install.Use Cases:This drive is ideal for a wide range of tasks. As a gamer, I’ve seen substantial improvements in load times and overall system responsiveness, but the drive is equally well-suited for productivity tasks, such as video editing or running virtual machines. The large 2TB capacity allows for plenty of space for modern AAA games and multimedia files, while also future-proofing storage needs for the foreseeable future. Conclusion:For anyone looking for a balance between speed, capacity, and value, the Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2 NVMe SSD is hard to beat. While it may not offer the extreme speeds of higher-end Gen 4 drives, it delivers excellent real-world performance that will satisfy the vast majority of users. It’s fast, reliable, and priced competitively, making it one of the best choices for anyone upgrading or building a PC in 2024. Highly recommended!

Immediate performance increase.
I've been running the same system and same storage since 2018, a standard HDD and SSD boot drive combo. Over the last year I've noticed a significant drop in performance with applications and games. I attributed this to my hard drive where those programs were stored due to it's slow read and write speeds when i monitored them.I finally chose to purchase a new larger SSD to store games and applications and decided on this SSD as it was well reviewed, well priced and boasted some good specs. The installation was easy, apart from my own hiccup. When installing, make sure other storage drives are plugged into sata ports that won't be disabled when inserting a new SSD. Checking your motherboard's manual will let you know which sata ports will be unusable. Once that issue was sorted, I checked the BIOS, confirmed the SSD was recognised. Launched the PC, found the drive and partitioned it. It was ready to go.Since moving some video games like fortnite and valorant, I've noticed much faster loading times, reduced lag and no crashes. If you're having similar issues with performance, I highly recommend picking up one of these.
