Best thermal camera
Amazing image quality. Fast to use and love how the real image outline overlays the thermal so you always know exactly what you are looking at.

Great camera, no complaints.
Fantastic quality, comes with a nice little soft carry bag, and overall does the job very well. I elected out of wifi since this is just for home electronics repairs, and it isn't pushy with updates. Overall, I got what I ordered and it does exactly what I needed it to do.

See the unseen
I bought the thermal camera for work. I inspect boilers and associated equipment. It is an excellent tool in this line of work. When I purchased it, my understanding of thermal technology was very limited but this camera is very simplistic to use producing high quality thermolgraphs. It has been instrumental in locating faulty insulation and various hot spots not visible to the naked eye. I plan to upgrade to the FLIR C8 for my next thermal camera.

No wi-fi and it's useless.
It is ok, I mean you can do the job, but it's confusing when use the menu.

Works great - most of the time.
I bought this camera for use doing home energy evaluations. Opened it up, it was charged and used it to look at the walls of my own home to see areas where the insulation could be better. A few days late I took it to the shop to show my co-workers and it wouldn't work. When you turned it on the screen showed weird patterns and no usable information. I cycled it on and off a couple of time with no better results. Left it sitting on my desk while we went to a job. When I came back tried it again and it worked perfectly. Hmmm. Got to love intermittent problems.

Bricked by Firmware Update, Warranty Not Honored
I paid around $850 for this thermal camera and used it lightly and professionally. I’m a contractor in Arizona and only used it after rain events to help locate active leaks—so very limited use in a dry climate. The unit became completely inoperable immediately after a manufacturer firmware update. This was not damage, misuse, or wear. The update itself bricked the device. When I started the RMA, the system showed the unit was under warranty, which is the only reason I sent it in. After receiving it, the company refused to stand behind the product or the firmware that caused the failure. To be honest, even before this happened, the unit was never great. It was slow, often had trouble connecting, and felt underpowered for a product at this price point. I tolerated those issues because I expected long-term reliability and proper support from a premium brand. At this price, with such light use, this product should last many years, not fail due to a routine firmware update and then be abandoned by the manufacturer. This experience completely killed my trust in the brand. I will not purchase another FLIR product, and I would strongly caution others to consider the risk—especially if you depend on this tool for professional work. Bottom line: Expensive, underwhelming performance, and poor warranty support when it mattered most. You're paying for the name, not the quality.

Expensive but it has already paid for itself
Well made, rugged, good performance and the software menus are easy to navigate. Good battery life. Bright clear screen is large, making viewing easy. Drops right into a jacket pocket, easy to carry. We use it to spot bad chips on power amplifier circuit boards. You can't see it with the naked eye, but this camera shows the overheated chips glowing brightly on the screen. The boards are diagnosed in minutes instead of hours. For that reason alone it was worth the price. If you're new to infrared imaging, don't expect lots of megapixels, that would cost you a fortune. Instead, if you need more resolution just get closer to the subject. The resolution of this camera is adequate for my application. It has good file-transfer features which I haven't used yet. It also has another use that is equally wonderful. If a horse or cow doesn't come home at night, this camera can quickly spot them a long distance away. Likewise, a quick scan of the pasture confirms all are present and accounted for. It's better than a flashlight because they stand out among objects that conceal them such as fences, trees and bushes, which appear dark in the infrared image.

Value per $
2 things to know, the frames per second is noticeably slow. The picture size is smaller than most are used to by my guess. Being able to see hot spots in electronics, in the wall. Drawing power from a connection you can see the temp difference. Draft in a room, you can find where it is coming from. A hiding mammal you can see it.(if it moves the fps will be noticeable). Puddle on the ground, the temp difference can be noticeable. For what it can do I find it to be a good value for the price.
