I like that this fan works on its own! The heat from the woodstove allows it to generate its own power. It helps to mix the air and spread the heat. They are quiet. Worth the money. We ended up with two.

Works as described. Moves hot air from around wood stove.

This fan performs appropriately but pushes very little air. Its little more than a novelty which im enjoying btw.

I have never left a review on Amazon but feel this is necessary. I have purchased four of these over the past year and three have failed. I have it placed on top of a sauna heater that heats to a maximum of 200 degrees Fahrenheit. They don’t last more than a few months each. I continued to purchase them because they are relatively inexpensive but won’t be doing that again in the future.

I see reviews saying it doesn't move much air. While that's true, it does move /enough/ to make it noticeably warmer on the opposite side of the room. I.e., the heat spreads to where we sit more quickly than waiting for it to rise, fill the top of the room, and then fill the room from the top down.So it does exactly what we wanted it to.Pros:-Spreads the heat across the room more quickly than it would spread naturally, without noise and without needing electricity.-Price was in the right range that I was looking for.-It's neat that it works without power. It just starts spinning when it heats up!Cons:-I was surprised that the fan doesn't have a magnet built into the bottom. I plan to add one myself to make sure we don't end up bumping it off the stove and damaging it.-The included thermometer was easily broken by my children simply pushing the pointer. I wish it had a glass cover over the dial to prevent accidental damage.

I like this little fan. It starts running as soon as my wood-stove is heating up. It will run quite quite fast, but it does not create a lot of draft. Maybe it's the angle of the blades or simply the size of the fan, but it is not doing a lot. It feels more like a gadget than a helpful tool. I assume the bigger sizes are more powerful, but I also don't want to have a gigantic fan sitting on my stove. Oh well.
