Q: How can you have sugar listed as the first ingredient and then claim on the nutrition information panel that there are no carbs and no sugars?

Good question, John T.; however, since I'm not the manufacturer, I did not make the claim about all of the product's ingredients. For my personal concern, the issue is the "salt" content. Thanks for bringing the sugar content to my attention.

Q: Can this be used when boiling peanuts

Don't see why not. If you can grill with it you should be able to boil with it. I'm too lazy for that - I get a 6lb can of Margret Holmes/Peanut Patch Cajun Boiled Peanuts and throw them in the crock pot on low for 6 hours.

Although reading the ingredients the label are in order - Sugar, Salt, Monosodium Glutamate, Paprika, Spice, Garlic Powder, Soybean Oil, Not more than 2% Silicon Dioxide added to prevent caking.
