Such good value for money, my 23 year old boyfriend really enjoyed it! And as a geology student myself I found the fact cards really cool and great for teaching people about minerals and gemstones. Only negative was that the little hammer broke but that might just be user error and the blocks were easy enough to break with other tools.

I actually bought this for my 75 year old mum who is a bit of a Makka Pakka and loves collecting stones from all sorts of places. She loved it! She said she couldn't wait to open it every morning and see what she'd got. Had a bit of a dilemma whether to get the tumbled or unprocessed rocks, went for smooth in the end. They were all lovely pieces. There was only one that didn't really look like the picture, she identified that one by process of elimination. I have to say this completely exceeded my expectations and I would buy it again.

Bought for crystal mad 11yr old. Really impressed with the size and quality of crystals. On day 14 and have lovely collection already. Nice little info card inside to give name and properties of crystals too.

If you have an inquisitive little person in your house then this is perfect. The tools they give you dont really work....even big strong daddy couldn't get in to the 'stone' with them but once we started putting them in a bowl(to contain mess/dust) and using a spoon to crack it open we were all set. But the 'treasure' you get and the info cards were unbelievably enjoyed by our 4year old. She has them all in her treasure chest and calls it her pirate gold. She loved the ones that had volcano or lava descriptions. Would 100% recommend.I'm 38 and love shiny things and I completely got in on the fun too, and learned a few things. All round great purchase.

Update Dec 18 - I have taken another star off because I now have had two duplicates and also a crystal which is not on the list (rose quartz). A couple I am not sure what they are and I have quite a bit of experience with crystals. These are clearly randomly put in the calendar. Just a bit more though - ie setting each day for a certain crystal then naming that crystal on the door or behind the plastic would make this more enjoyable and much better for children.I love crystals and already have many of these crystals in polished or rough form but I can never get enough. The excitement fact (yes, I know I should act my age but then again why?!) is high and much better than opening a door for a predictable chocolate, posh tea or unusual coffee.The only thing missing is a picture behind the crystal or some information, even the name, on the corresponding doors.Great value and a brilliant way to introduce someone to mineralogy.

Good sized stones, good quality and each stone is different- bought for my daughter and she has really liked everyone. The little bags are well made, you have to apply the date stickers to them yourself and they can lose a little stick after a few weeks but none have fallen off. Happy to recommend.

Bit more fun than just opening a calendar to find a rock, my 6, 8 yo loved digging in the chalk like material for the gems each day. Great value and really lovely stones and stone description cards x

My daughter loves crystals, so I bought this for her.The crystals were not labelled properly, you can tell the crystals are just shoved anywhere, as several didn't match up to the label given to them.There were a few that looked and felt fake too.It's not worth the box it was sent in. I've started a return as I'm very disappointed with the quality of the crystals!!! I won't be recommending this to anyone.
