My grandson's thought they were fun and interesting. I gave them as stocking stuffers.

I used to imagine all kinds of things that writing pens could be, during times when I needed to entertain myself with only school type objects at hand as well as not too obviously playing. This one appears to be inspired by the real life US Marine Corp Osprey Tilt rotor aircraft, with vertical and short range take off capabilities, though without the wings, and different proportion propellors and body. The real Osprey aircraft are designed to carry men and equipment in amphibious assaults with loading ramp in the back--not moveable in this toy.This toy/pen has moveable "engine nacelles" and the propellor blades are actually metal in contrast to the rest of the toy being plastic, and the blades fold in and out and can be spun. The plastic toy wheel "landing gear" fold open and shut, do support the toy and are relatively sturdy. The ink Pen hidden in the "nose/cockpit" does work for writing when the nose is removed like a pen cap. There however is no pocket clip, and the pen is much longer than most pens. It probably has fidget object potential but isn't marketed as such.

For my kids and nephews with airplane obsessions, these are going to be hit presents for a great price. These pens include ink already in and come with extra ink, which is a nice touch. But the reality is they'll be used as fun, portable plane toys. The propellers rotate, and you can manually open the blades. The wheels pop in and out also. I'm not confident these are the strongest or most resilient, though I also don't think anyone expects them to be so at this price point or type of product. For what they are, I'm highly satisfied and excited to give them (probably as stocking stuffers).

These airplane pens are so unique! They come in different colors and individually wrapped. The pens write nice and smooth. I thought they made be akward to hold when writing , but they are not. The plane parts are far enough up the pen handle to not be in the way. I feel these could make a cute gift,stocking stuffer, or just an extra to add to a gift basket. Good value for the uniqueness and smoothness.
