Just got this today and like it very much. It did not come with instructions. I opened and closed it a few times and it was white. Went into my darkened bedroom to see how bright it was and this time it opened as a different color. Opened and closed it some more times and saw the different colors and finally got back to white. Later when I opened it, it cycled thru all the colors. Is there a way to determine what it's going to do? I don't know how it was doing the cycling, or why sometimes it opens as white and others as different colors. I think all the colors are very pretty. I did notice a corner where it was glued was already coming loose and I pushed it back but I'm concerned that over time the glue won't hold. Will update again if I find I have problems with it but overall think it's lovely!!

Updated review: The book lamp didn't make it 6 months before the charging port became loose and no longer able to charge. A disappointment that to it didn't even make it a year before my daughter could no longer use it.===========================================Bought this for my daughter and stopped working after a few days. Luckily the company that makes them has great customer service and responded immediately by shipping me a new book lamp. The only issue I find with this new one is that the book sometimes doesn't close all the way (something inside keeps shifting and getting in the way of ira closing) and the light does not shut off completely.

the book does an amazing job in fooling everyone that its a book, lo and behold you open it and it becomes a variety of desk/table lamp, incredible, love the soft glow it gives off, it has several different color options, and one continuos color changing option, each time you open the book, a different light comes on until you cycle through all the co,ors, makes a great addition to the bedroom for that soft warm glow that lulls you to sleep, a definite recommended buy!

I am in love. I'm a major reader and writer and this was just perfect for me. My niece saw it and i have bought another for her, for her birthday. It's gorgeous exactly as shown love that it changes colors and is surprisingly bright in the dark. Super fun and unique and I am certain I'll buy more in the future!

The glue on my book light doesn't stick at all to the sides of the book. It looks like there wasn't that much glue on the page. Also, the pages are just paper, I thought it would be more of a tear resistant paper/plastic. I was thoroughly displeased.
