Bioxtra Mild Toothpaste 50ml

I have been trying every enzyme toothpaste available to humans (and even one for pets) since GSK's Biotene left us all high and dry. This is the first one that, I feel, is comparable.MY OPINION:Bioxtra's taste and mouth-feel are not identical to Biotene's, but just as mild. There is a soft mint flavor and no foaming whatsoever (no sodium lauryl sulphate), and it is lightly sweet. One of its sweeteners is xylitol, a helpful ingredient for dry mouths. It also contains fluoride, a turn-off for some but not for me. Interestingly, it also contains colostrum whey (colostrum is one of nature's miracles). The list of ingredients are not on the box or the tube (not crazy about the old-fashioned metal tube), but on a paper insert in the box. Bioxtra is the first enzyme toothpaste I've tried since the old formula Biotene to leave my teeth feeling just-from-the-hygenist slick and clean.The following has been culled from many different listings on Amazon and elsewhere of Bioxtra toothpaste. It appears to me that the listing from the Canadian government may differ from other sources. Perhaps it is an older or newer formula. It's quite possible that I'm just misinterpreting different ways to say the same things. This arrived weeks ahead of schedule. Very pleased.

The principle American product is Biotene Dry Mouth Jell. When it first came out it was Ok but did not last long at night. Then they started changing the formula and it got worse and worse even causing irritation to throat. Yet there was no substitute. All lozengers and sprays are worthless when compared to the jells for all night or mostly all night need if your saliva glands are dead, usually from radiation. While in the Netherlands, I saw this product on a shelf next to the Biotene one and tried it. I have been wed to it for 4 years. Tried Biotene again a year ago, they changed formula again but this product is far more satisfactory.

Love this toothpaste. I bought some in greece a few years back and it really helped with my dry mouth and also at preventing cavities. I’ve tried American brands that would be the equivalent, but they’re just not. It’s good toothpaste and worth the money.

It works.Dislike fact it comes from England.

I was given a sample of this by my dentist and loved it. It is a super product that I will use for the rest of my life.

Following a dental treatment I was waking during the night with a stinging tongue. I thought it might be an allergy to new dental bridge, but dentist checked and there was no inflammation around the actual gums and dentist said gums would show a reaction as more sensitive than tongue. Possibly a reaction to nerve damage from dental work affecting my tongue, but also realised that a branded toothpaste for sensitive teeth was also burning my mouth which took me weeks to realise might also be worsening the problem. Woke one morning with inside of lip bleeding as mouth was so dry and sore. Tried this toothpaste in the hope it would ease all these symptoms but wasn't that hopeful but within 2 days use, morning and night, my mouth was a lot better moisturised and sore lip healing. Helped me a lot as much gentler, tastes fine and doesn't contain irritants like sodium lauryl sulphate, which although has never been a problem for me before but may be now as my mouth has become so sensitive to stronger toothpastes which contain all kinds of ingredients.

Mostly like a normal toothpaste but not as strongly flavoured. It also seems to disappear quickly as opposed to frothing up but my teeth feel really clean afterwards and the dry mouth is easing. I also use the gel which definitely helps.

I suffer with dry mouth at night due to my age and I have found that by using this and the mouth wash it really helps. I no longer wake up several times a night needing a drink or finding my tongue stuck to my teeth. I have also found that the toothpaste does not irritate my tongue and i will certainly continue to use this.

I have only just purchased this toothpaste so far i have noticed a slight inprovment for dry mouth I will have to wait and see if it’s good long term

Purchased for post radiotherapy - works well but I’d hoped it’d last a little longer.I use with the mouthwash
