Way understated
Why isn’t this on Newyorks Bestsellers list??? A well written book which stands true to its title. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get inspiration in pursuing something meaningful in life.

Enjoyable and historical read.
I really enjoyed reading this book.It is essentially a character study to some pretty inspiring historical figures. It then analyzes the virtues of those characters and discusses how you can adopt them for yourself. The book say that we are all on our own heroes journey (in the Joseph Campbell sense), and that succeeding in that journey requires characteristics embodied by the characters in the book.I met some characters I already knew, and other characters who I had heard of but had no idea about. I was particularly inspired by the stories of Queen Elizabeth, Voltaire, and Thomas Paine. It has stimulated my appetite for history. And a might have to go binge watch The Tudors haha.I like this book so much that I'm now halfway through Sean Patrick's other book.Happy reading.

A broad-based appeal to applying critical thinking and the historical lessons of proven geniuses in achieving your potential.
Are you capable of greatness?Would you dare to live an extraordinary life?Is it really possible to live out your deepest dreams?"Awakening Your Inner Genius" considers the concrete examples of many people who, by their actions and legacies, have more than faced up to these questions, answering them with a resounding, "Yes!"I just finished reading the Kindle version of this excellent book upon the recommendation of an inspiring acquaintance that I met at a barbecue recently. It is not often enough that I have the pleasure of finding such fluidly and clearly articulated intellectual stimulation as I did in Sean Patrick's words.Patrick's passion for having the integrity to remain true to oneself and thus to create an extraordinary life is eloquently and invitingly expressed in ardent, yet amiable style that exemplifies the unselfishness of the true leader and scholar - the autodidact - one who has learned to commit him / herself to the discipline of finding and imparting true wisdom, the kind of knowledge that when applied generates not only greatness in oneself but also the yearning to nurture the seeds of genius in others. This is an easy read, with the only real obstacle presented in its challenge to you to live out your soul's dream - to really live.If there are any shortcuts to greatness, the first of them certainly is to be true to yourself, a second would be in collaborating with others whose genius and tenacity you admire and respect. A third shortcut may be found in reading about such people and learning from the lessons they have demonstrated with their lives.A wise proverb states: "Buy wisdom and sell it not."In the light of that wisdom, and its applicability to "Awakening Your Inner Genius," I recommend this wonderful book to all who dare to dream that their gifts really do matter and that they were not made to live mundane lives.

Who needs another half-baked "How to be a Genius" Book?
I do admit this was an impulse purchase. I can be a sucker for the words "awakening", "inner" and "genius". How could I resist a $4.00 Kindle e-book? What can I possibly lose with spending $4.00 for the secret that might extinguish my insecurities forever. But when I began to read it I quickly saw that something or some things are missing from this text. Perhaps the author's intentions are noble, or perhaps he is practicing his own version of the Build Your Own Personal Brand and riches will start knocking on your opportunity door; whatever his motivations, if the author really wanted to write a book on how I can increase my intelligence ,he would have put some of his OWN intelligence into it. The only obvious intelligence in this book you have to read between the lines to see. The message I got from this text, after a cursory reading and choosing not to continue at this time, is that the author is really a budding direct marketer and peddler of concepts and probably has a future as a copywriter for either himself for future ventures or writing for others. For a book to be truly groundbreaking, which the author seems to imply his work is, it should actually offer some information on how I can awaken my inner genius, not let me have to read about how other people have done it, whatever it is they did, to "get ahead" or "be creative" or whatever those whom we tend to worship for their luck-of-the-draw success and try to copy them. Hey, save me and the other readers of this book the time of having to divine this information for ourselves, as if by psychic osmosis these magic formulas are suppose to make themselves clear. The author's message could have been distilled to about 20 pages or so and maybe that would have been useful, and would have made a good direct-marketing brochure selling a self-improvement course. I hesitate to call this a scam, for yes, some fortunate soul might take the time to follow his "instructions" and "exercises" and follow what others say about success. And if a $4.00 expenditure can motivate someone to do something positive they might have not had the courage to try otherwise, that probably is a good thing to society. I also got the impression that I was being "set up" for a bigger life-improvement pitch as the book seem to read like a 2 AM infomercial. In fact, this book gives me an idea on how to structure such a concept. But Mr. Sean Patrick, you will have to buy my book that I may write to show you how and it will cost you far more than $4.00. But I do work on a royalty basis.......

Interesting read
Interesting facts. But I didn’t know Leonardo Da Vinci painted « Saint Washington »???? I’ve heard of Saint George but not Saint Washington. Is it just a careless mistake which escaped the attention of proof readers, or is there such a Saint?

This book changed everything for me.
I don't normally right reviews on Amazon, but felt compelled to right a review about this book.I don't understand how anyone can rate this book below 5 stars. The first review on this book is just ridiculous where the reader complains that the book is a 'cut and paste' job. Its clearly not, Sean goes into an incredible amount of detail of each story he shares, and explains the notion behind each story, and what we should and can learn from history. There is no better teacher than history. I had no idea Walt Disney had struggled so hard and how his passion and drive pushed him through every challenge, I had no idea that most of the people referenced in the story's which Sean writes about had gone through such incredible challenges. I've read a lot of books in this genre and this is my favourite book of all time. Before this book, I had always tried to set goals and work through them blindly. Then you read this book and get a real life understanding how some of the most influential 'game changers' managed to achieve the most unbelievable results in just one lifetime. You have to be someone who is really serious about getting the most out of your own life and the goals you've set to appreciate this book. I'm talking about life changing goals like starting a business or finding that new 'thing' which will change everything. This is what this book is all about, its a guide to how others have done it, and how others have completely gone beyond what is even humanly possible, and if you understand their mindset, you'll understand that no matter how large your goal is, you'll achieve it with the right plan of action. You'll see and understand that every single person didn't know HOW they would get there, they just knew that they would never stop trying. With everything that this book is made from in its references to history, its by far the best book I've ever read. Its real life, the people who lived were real and are real, what they did was real - this is not another 'opinionated' self help book - this shows you that you can do it too by way of example. My mind has truly been opened by every single historical figure mentioned in this book who defied every possible challenge and defeated even their own expectations.I hope this review helps, even if just one person - I certainly know it helped me!

Disappointing
A random, but well written, trawl through a number of people noted as being successful, changing the world shape and/or being of high intellect. A huge amount of random detail and absolutely nothing...nothing at all...on how to awaken the readers "inner genius". Not suggesting there is any necessarily but this has zero to offer as a self help, educational or challenging text

Intrigued start to finish
I'd consider myself only a beginner in terms of reading books like this but it really resonated with me. This book won't make you a genius per say but it is an initial step for someone that probably never even considered it. There's more to genius than a super smart freak and this book delves into that. The other thing I loved was the sort stories about geniuses of our time and why they were special. It has also made me excited to read further into the their lives and it makes you appreciate their actions and sacrifices to achieve what we all take for granted today. I showed a friend of mine some of the extracts and quotes this book contained which made him pick it up immediately. The low price is just another reason not to pick this up! I look forward to this months book club Sean ;)

Format of the book is not my style
My main problem with this book is I didn't like the way the points were communicated. The stories were well written but I they were too long and tiresome in my opinion. I like things laid out clearly. The way it was written was ok but just not my cup of tea. I guess I didn't like the format of the book. From the title I thought it was a book with steps how to further unlock your potential, not just some stories of famous people displaying a quality they possessed.
