I was a bit concerned about a hitch under $30 but I just got done hauling a very heavy Uhaul trailer (6x12) over a 1000 miles with no problems whatsoever. We moved a 3 bedroom apartment in the trailer and honestly we packed every square inch of it like a game of tetris. It was maxed out and very heavy. The hitch did what it was supposed to do and barely looks used after it all. I'm not only happy with the hitch and its performance, I'm also pretty impressed. It's heavy duty. Especially for the price!Important Note: the ball is welded on, not bolted, so this hitch can only be used for 2" purposes and is not interchangeable with other bolt-on balls.

I have a hitch on my SUV, but didn’t have this one component so I could actually use it. When the arrived, I could tell by the box alone that this thing was heavy duty. Upon inspection, clean and neat. No issues with the weld. Installation is a snap as it just slides right into place and the pin as well. It’s designed to be used up or down and that gives it a lot of versatility. Overall very happy with this purchase.

What can you say, it is a hitch

I went with this hitch over other brands because it's rated for a 7,500 lb trailer where others are 6,000 or even 5,000 lbs. It's made from the same 0.188" wall square tube and 3/4" flat as every other ball mount in this category and my bet is they all perform the same. It's possible XPE uses higher strength steel but I highly doubt it. More likely the ratings are a reflection of how much liability each manufacturer is willing to take on or possibly separates those that actually test to the SAE J684 standard from those that don't. XPE has absolutely no web presence and scores very poorly on the service that spots fake reviews so the brand feels shady and if you can't find them, you can't hold them accountable to their rating. That said, there are many reviews of XPE hitches and everyone seems to think they're well-built. There isn't much to judge on this particular hitch since it's just two pieces of steel welded together but the weld appears to be a high-quality, robotic weld and the finish is very nice. The only reason for four stars instead of five on this hitch for me is because the rating is on a sticker instead of being stamped. I paid a little more for what's most likely an identical product because of the higher rating and I'd like that rating to be permanently marked.
