MDXONE Kids Snowboard Ski Trainer Harness with Retractable Leash

The media could not be loaded.  Well worth the higher price. My young 3 year old asked us to get her a harness, having seen other slightly older kids skiing with one. She wanted more freedom to learn without us holding her or skiing between our knees. This harness has been amazing for us. The attachment points, the handle, the storage spot in the pack, even the string lifting handles are all quite well thought out and placed. I’m just three trip to our local mountain with this paired with the Effie Wedgie, she has gone from skiing between our knees to doing actual pizza-French fry on her own AND TURNS!!! She keeps asking for more ski time. :)))))).One thing we’ve learned is that it’s important to disconnect the seat Y piece before chairlifts. It somehow created for her too much of a pressure point, with the heavy dangling g boots and skis. Her legs fell asleep, I think, and made for a very sad start to our last hurrah run of the day on her requested chairlift-services easier run, after lots of magic carpet success.

At 2 years old, my kid was ready to "do it on my own" but I knew better. With the MDXONE we were able to ditch the magic carpet and tow ropes to head for the ski lift with confidence. He was pretty excited too! Plus a single run he can learn more than 10x carpet rides. Within a few weeks, he was comfortable enough to get on and off the lift, turn, and started learning to edge and being able to go where he wanted. We ended the season doing every run our little hill had to offer. Can't wait to continue the family fun and days outdoors together.I can't recommend this enough for those looking to teach their child how to snowboard. It's well made and is extremely useful. Not only will it really help your kid actually learn to do it themselves, but you'll still be in control. The bungee is great for soft and slight corrections and isn't jarring to the little rider. We have yet to use the ring for more advanced riding, but that'll come this season. When it's time to haul them around to get back on the chairlift, the bag is very useful for moving them around and carrying or lifting them on to the chair if needed. The handle on the top to pick them back up after a fall is great. Easy on you and fun for them. Besides the money spend on warm gear, this is the best investment I've made into fun family winters on the slopes. I'll last for years to come.

I wish I bought this sooner! I got this harness when the snowboard season was almost over and man, it would've come in handy months before! My 2 year old did SO well using it! The harness allowed him to be independent and safe at the same time. Now that the snowboard season is over, I thought it wouldn't get any use. Boy I was wrong! I put it on him because I was scared he was going to forget how to use the brake on his balance bike. We live where it's pretty hilly and the harness made me feel so much better while we biked together. Now he just likes to wear it around for fun!

I was skeptical about the MDXONE backpack for teaching my little snowboarder. I almost didnt get it. once i bought it and tried it i havent gone back. The level of progression in our 10 days out on the mountain have grown exponentially with the MDXONE, however MOST IMPORTANTLY is the ability for the kids to have fun. This pack allows you to stop edge catches (day wreckers) and continue on with your snowboarding for way longer periods of time. Learning faster, Learning safer and having more fun.... worth every penny. Also the grab handle features alone make this pack worth it make sure you use the pack with the leg harness. Also if youre new to teaching kids snowboarding bring snacks, juice and a couple toys. happy kids, happy parents.

People literally stop me every time I'm on the hill with this thing. I just loaned it to a friend who was snowboarding with his 4 year old and he said he was stopped a few times as well by people who were so impressed with the product. It works great, well build and way better than cheap leashes on the market.

First the positives:The five point harness is great for the stability needed for pulling kids around on a snowboard. I looked for similar products and even just kids 5 point harnesses and could not find the right thing. The bungee on the leash is a nice touch.The negatives:It is very poorly constructed. Single stitching. One of the metal loop connectors broke off (in the middle of a run, no less) on only the second day using it. I sent it back and they replaced it no questions. However, this one also broke on the second day of use. This time the stitching holding together the chest strap. Super lame! The handle on the leash should be larger to accommodate for gloves. I have to ride with either no gloves or very thin gloves.If it was not so cheaply made I would recommend it more. I have been sewing it back together and reinforcing where it keeps ripping.

Just got this for our 5 year old. Worked great! Like that you can put the retractable part in the backpack when it is not needed. The retractable part was great for helping him at close range and when we wanted to give him a little more space. Handle worked great for lifting him onto the chairlift!

There are several good harness systems to teaching kids to ski, but this is the only one I've found with unique features to make teaching snowboarding easier. Also the retractable leash has an elastic section at the end to absorb some of the force when you pull back on the harness, it makes it less jerky for the kids. Also the 5 point harness makes it so easy to grab one of the convenient rings on the backpack to lift the child up out of the snow if they fall.

The media could not be loaded.  Awesome. Use it for snowboarding for my 4-year old. So practical to lift him off the lift or to make sure he doesnt lose control and hit a tree. Love this product!

Amazing product. My son loves wearing it everywhere. Gives me grab handles to catch a fast running 2 year old daily. Great for snowboarding, skiing, sledding etc.
