Hongdian D1 Piston Fountain Pen Fine Nib, Hollow Skeleton & Resin with Metal Case Set (Silver)

Such a lovely design and great value for money

I really enjoy writing with this pen with only two minor drawbacks: The fine nib is more like a medium to me & my clip "wobbles" a bit. I think it would take many years of heavy usage before it would fall off and I have so many fountain pens I don't see that being a problem, but in case yours comes with this slight glitch I thought I should warn you. Also, I don't think it would be obvious with the pattern the pen has if the clip did fall off. Well worth the money.

I have a collection of over 30 fountain pens, ranging from affordable to expensive, and this fountain pen has quickly become my favourite. It is beautiful, with a slightly gothic feel, has just the right weight for effortless writing without feeling cheap, and it writes perfectly. I have the EF nib, and for my style of writing it is perfection. The ink flows very well, the writing is super smooth, and the built-in converter ink filling mechanism works great. I really love this pen!

Well this was a lot better than I expected it to be.Writes beautifully, decent weight, easy ink filling system and looks unlike any other pen in my collection.It is currently my everyday pen.

This pen is strikingly beautiful and writes very well. I especially like the piston filler, which makes it impossible to get ink on my hands when filling it.

Ich hatte mit dem Gedanken gespielt, mir einen Kolbenfüllfederhalter von teuren Marken zu kaufen, da ich mit meinen bisherigen Füllern nie zufrieden war. Das Handling meiner bisherigen Füller mit einem Kolbenkonverter ist unpraktisch und mühselig, da der drehmechanismus schwerfällig ist.Ich bin bei meiner Recherche über Kolbenfüller über ein Forum gestolpert, in welchen man sich über Marken und Modelle ausgetauscht hat. So bin ich auf Hongdian aufmerksam geworden und dort wurde auch über dieses Modell berichtet. Ich hatte bedenken, da dieses Modell aus China kam, mir die Marke gänzlich unbekannt war und ich nicht wusste, wie das Schreibgefühl ist.Die Bestellung lief reibungslos, die Lieferung erfolgte prompt. Das Schreibgerät wurde in einem Aluminium Etui geliefert und so auch optimal geschützt.Die Verarbeitung fühlt sich nicht hochwertig an, der Kolbenmechanismus funktioniert einfach, ist jedoch aus einfachen Kunststoff und die Tintenkammer ist leicht zu befüllen. Der Füller ist durch das Design leicht und dennoch ausgewogen. Man spürt, dass bei dem Muster „scharfe“ Kanten, welche ungewohnt sind, jedoch nicht unangenehm sind. Er liegt dabei gut in der Hand. Das Schreibgefühl, trotz feiner Feder genial und perfekt. Kein Kratzen auf dem Papier, der Tintenfluss ist gleichmäßig und sauber. Mit der Feder kann sowohl groß, als klein geschrieben werden. Schnell oder sauber. Ich hatte mir dieses Modell zum Testen gekauft und wollte ihn zurückschicken, da ich ein anderes Modell von Hongdian liebe. Dieses Modell gefällt mir so gut, dass ich diesen für zu Hause nutze, da das Schreibgefühl einfach genial ist und das Design ein Hingucker. Der Preis ist lächerlich günstig. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

I have been buying Hongdian pens since the release of the Forest series. Hongdian continues to step up their game with the N-series pens. Now they have come out with the D series. At less than 42 grams fully inked, the D-1 is a relatively light metal skeleton pen. The quality of the metal skeleton is smooth and is comfortable in the hand. The design is intricate and tight but allows enough of a view of the ink and the ink level. The extra-fine nib lays a 0.45-millimeter line. It has a bit of feedback but is not scratchy. When stored horizontally, the nib will last over a week without drying out. The metal box is similar to a Pilot Metropolitan; nothing special, but the added piston wrench is a nice addition. As always, Sally and Bitrumn’s customer service is excellent.

This is a piston-fill ink pen. No inserted cartridges. The video instructions are fair, could be better. The piston pump with the pen is VERY FRAGILE. Be careful in opening it. It is also prone to leakage if anything is out of alignment. Pen also comes with a tool to help loosen the piston pump mechanism at the BACK of the pen. I'm not particularly pleased with the pump arrangement but I'm sure others love it. I prefer cartridge loading in pens. HongDian finally has appropriate ink cartridges available through Amazon.
