A lot of my fish won't even eat this flake. But it's hard to blame the flake entirely since Discus can be really picky eaters. I was new to this hobby and ended up getting young discus from several different locations. I had the common newbie problem of feeding frozen blood worms because it was the only thing that all of them would eat. I was trying to wean them off and on to the flake by soaking it in fresh garlic before feeding it. Some of my fish are taking now (as opposed to none of them at first) it but some just don't even consider it to be edible. Just be aware that there's a huge chance that your fish will not take it unless they are already used to eating flake food.On the other hand, I have another tank with some random fresh water fish (platys, dojo loaches, rainbow shark) and they tear these flakes up like they're steak. I have some baby platys that are growing like crazy on it as well.

Picky Eaters now Dancing Beggars
I was amazed at how much my discus loved this food! They see me coming & immediately the beggars are dancing at the front of the tank. Feeding is a snap - the large flakes are easier for them to find & eat - It is amazing how quickly the food is totally devoured. Quite a turn around by picky eaters who had rejected all but the (frozen) foods which have notoriously poor nutritional values (many contain single digit protein values!)Other (name brand) flake foods would be hardly touched & I spent much time skimming it off the top. That is certainly not a problem with this food which they apparently deem to be a gourmet meal.**As a side note, let me mention since any flake food will crumble from daily handling, I pour a few days worth into a shallow, large top container, & by so doing prevents the content in the original package from breakage that inevitably occurs from frequent handling.

Discuses enjoy eating this flake food very much!
My discuses did not like it at first because they love live-food / frozen bloodworm but I trained them to this flake. They now love it. Other tankmates such as angles, silver dollars and tetras ‘very much enjoy this flake too. Only thing that I wish is that the flakes should be smaller (I have to brake them before feeding) so that it my fishes can swallow the food smoothly w/o spit out few times before they can suck it back!

Now they eat like little piggies on the stuff
THIS is the biggest can of flake fish food I have ever seen! I think it is a 2 year supply for 2 discus fish. Our new discus seemed to turn up their nose at everything, even fresh frozen shrimp, bloodworms, and other flake food. I put a little in at first and crushed them into smaller pieces, they ate. Now they eat like little piggies on the stuff. It's been 2 months now and they still won't eat live food...so it must be good. FYI I haven't noticed and BIG change in brightness of color but they are healthy.

My Discus dont eat this.
My discus won't eat this, but they are from Mac's Discus online and were raised on frozen blood worms and won't eat anything else but live black worms, not beef heart, not brine shrimp, not fish eggs, no pellets, and no other flake food. It's not a total waste though, I feed it to my tetras and albino cory cats in a different tank, and they gobble it up. I'm sure if you get discus from Discus Hans, they will eat it.

but now it's great! We mix up their diet and so much ...
We were only feeding our discus frozen bloodworms and shrimp and they kept getting plugged up. Found these and it took a few days for them to start eating them, but now it's great! We mix up their diet and so much easier with feedings. On can: Discus Hans recommends this. We just pinch a little bit and hold underwater so they float down immediately instead of floating on surface.

GOOD food for BEAUTIFUL discus
Good food. My discus like it and look good. Only thing is that the flakes are too big, or break up into tiny pieces in the can. Overall, I'm satisfied.

discus loves it
the only flake food that my discus eats. i wasted lots of money buying other flake foods that boast discus fish acceptance. only to be fed to guppies and gold fishes. only cobalt discus flake food is accepted and eagerly eaten by my discus fish. even after, having frozen food or even given with frozen foods. i highly recommend this as part of your pets healthy natural diet.
