The Astute project is a successful realisation of the Italian dream:Formed as a result of the collaboration between Venetian craftsmen, specialising in the design and construction of hand made bike saddles, and enthusiastic entrepreneurs.Based on in-depth analysis and studies conducted in the lab and on the road, Astute has developed a long line of international patents that set standards for bikers in the field of technology, performance, comfort and styling.The result: for the first time completely fresh and smart saddles made for professional cyclists and those who really love cycling.Astute saddles are 100 % made in Italy, 100 % handmade and 100 % innovative, ensuring continuous improvement.The Star range by Astute is a completely innovative family of road saddles with a round saddle shape.The design focus for this saddle line lies on its suitability for races and long distance comfort.The innovative concept is based on two international patents for an aerodynamic single shell, nylon carbon construction.Therefore, it takes up the Astute philosophy of sportiness, paired with exquisite design.Based on the T.D.S. concept, the Astute top design system, this project combines all benefits of an open saddle with the design features of a closed saddle.The Starlite saddle is characterised by a sporty low installation height and is equipped with light weight carbon rails with a thickness of 7 x 9 mm.Furthermore, the revolutionary tri-density padding system with multiple degrees of hardness provides various areas with different seat pressure for extra sitting comfort for you:The pad in the saddle nose, where there is little pressure to allow a comfortable sitting posture in this area, is unrivalled in soft and comfortable design.For an optimal support in the sit bone area, which is subjected to considerably higher loads, the pad is equipped with a much tougher foam at the back.Overall, the padding consist of a total of three different hardness zones that ensure an optimal adaptation of the saddle to the respective seat pressures.At the same time, the use of an innovative progressive memory foam ensures an optimal restoration of the cushion material to its original thickness and form after the load, which guarantees a constant cushion geometry over the entire service life of your saddle.This concept is rounded off by a special premium microfibre saddle cloth:it's strong but still soft, and additionally waterproof, breathable and can be wiped clean.The Starlite saddle combines its round shape with a relieving recess in the centre.The model name "Pilarga" describes a model with a widened saddle base of 145 mm.Technical specifications of the Starlite Pilarga:Seat frame:Round shape with cut out saddle cover:Single shell construction made of polyamide carbon saddle rails:Carbon rail padding of 7 x 9 mm:tri-density pad with progressive memory foam.Length: 270 mm.
