Prepare to be hit by nostalgia
The media could not be loaded. If you're someone who grew up reading comics in the 70s and 80s, be prepared to be hit by the strong nostalgia coming from this book.Author George Khoury has done an incredible job writing about comics, titles and related events that happened between 1976 to 1986. That's a decades worth of comics, recollection, history condensed into this 240-page paperback. Every page is filled to the brim with text and artwork. It's such and engaging and mesmerising read that I don't mind that he continue writing for other decades. The book is a collection of stories that talk about the popular titles that were doing really well during the time, and those that had significant impact on the history of comics that lasted till today. There are the Harvey Comics, Archie Comics, KISS, Star Wars, Love and Rockers, Ninja Turtles and of course the superheroes and mutants from Marvel and DC, such as Superman, Spider-man, X-Men, and many other titles. The stories are not just on the comics but also on how they were created.Additionally, there are also sections that pay tribute to artists such as John Romita, Neal Adams, John Buscema, Jose Luis Garcia Lopez, John Bryne, Dave Cockrun, Jim Starlin and Sal Buscema.Comic Fever has managed to capture the exciting times that happened to comics in those ten years. Highly recommended to comic readers of that generation.

Comic Book Gold!
This book was obviously a labour of love for the author, it shines out of every page. Comic Book Fever charts ten years of comic book history and the joy they brought, which is often now sadly lacking. Reading more like a 240 page magazine with short sections running to a few pages, this isn't academic tome but a book you can dip into here and there. You can read it from beginning to end but you'll enjoy it just as much picking stories at random. With loads of pictures, loads of info and loads of fun, I'd recommend this book for anyone with a love of comics.

The cover is the best part
A disappointing read this book was more like a selection of essays and articles thrown together and not very good ones at that

BUY THIS BOOK NOW!!!
Like it is referred to on the cover (and a fantastic cover it IS by the incomparable Alex Ross), if you were a kid and a comics fan that grew up between 1976 and 1986, THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU and is freakin' fantastic! So much is covered, so MANY great articles & interviews, so MANY images bringing back so MANY great memories! Of course it doesn't cover everything one could possibly have on a wish list for such a book but man, it covers a LOT!A personal future wish list would be Dennis the Menace digests, DC reprint digests, cartoon related comics (like Heckle & Jeckle, Woody Woodpecker, the Disney comics like Supergoof, and the Marvel Hanna-Barbera comics) and comic related toys, MEGO figures, Alpha Flight, Marvel movie adaptation comics, DC and Marvel's Star Trek comics, etc etc etc. This was definitely a labor of love in writing and collecting/deciding the images for this book!To George Khoury: a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS! In the spirit of some of the material contained within, how about a sequel? C'mon, 'Bring On The Big Bad Son of Comic Book Fever'!

Fantastic walk down memory lane!
An absolutely fantastic walk down memory lane! I was born in 1972, and this book covers my childhood beautifully!I love that the book isn't just one long story. It is actually dozens of 1-6 page 'articles' that cover everything from the Spalding basketball ads on the backs of comics in the mid-70s to in-depth reviews of the big-name creators of the time.Tons of full color pictures throughout!Warning: I was a Marvel kid (still am) and this book seems to be VERY heavy on Marvel. If you were a DC kid, you likely won't appreciate this book nearly as much.

Childhood Comic Book Memories Relived!
For any comic book fan who grew up during the mid 70's to mid 80's, or even if you weren't but are a fan of that era in comics, this is a wonderful book which helps you relive great old memories from that era. Well worth the price of admission, as you can't put a price on great comic book memories! The author, George Khoury, has done a splendid job of recounting most of the great things from this time period, and I highly recommend it.
