62 x 62 (Square) Homespun Tablecloth, Hand Loomed, 100% Cotton (Solid Natural)

This tablecloth is made of beautiful, heavy cotton fabric, but it SHRINKS BADLY upon washing. I purchased it for use on a 48" square glass-topped table with rounded corners. I washed it per manufacturers instructions in cold water. It recommended line drying, but because I don't have a clothes line (who in an urban environment does?) I spread it out on the table top to dry. I thought perhaps it would stretch a bit as it dried, but it didn't. I even ironed it with a steam iron hoping it would stretch. As purchased, it had a nice 7" drop around the 4 sides. After washing, the drop had decreased to about 3" all around. Because I like the cloth, I bought the same item from a different source as a 72" square. I have had the same issue with shrinkage with the newer one, but because it was larger to begin with, It will be fine.

This table cloth is a thin weave. It is cotton, so there was shrinkage even washed in cold water and hung to dry. I have had woven table cloths in the past with a heavier weave which seemed to hold up better with repeated washings. The delicate look and color were just like picture on-line. Overall, for the price it is not a bad purchase; however, it would be smart to order a size larger than needed to make up for the shrinkage.

Great quality and texture. Shrinks some after first wash, but okay by me. First one I ordered never arrived but as soon as I contacted the seller they immediately shipped another that arrived in like 2 days. Extremely happy with this purchase - just what I hoped for. Should last for many years.

It was a very nice tablecloth in the perfect size until I washed it. Now, it doesn't even go over the sides of the table.
