Colourful Overview
Beautifully presented book providing a good written overview, plus excellent maps and images. The before and after photos and aerial images are fascinating and will help visitors to find the locations today, although this is not a guide book.Another reviewer mentions that there is no mention of the beaches. This is because they are covered in detail in an accompanying volume (see link below). The Normandy Battlefields: Bocage and Breakout: From the beaches to the Falaise Gap (WWII Historic Battlefields) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/1612004199/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hYGjCbR0J3DDQThose with an in depth knowledge of D-Day and the Battle for Normandy are likely to learn nothing new. But for those looking for a detailed overview with historic views of the battlefield, high quality modern images and details about the combatants, this hits the mark.

Excellent gift for someone
Got this as a Christmas present for my uncle who loved it. Good quality and covered all the spots he’d recently been to visit. I had a job wrestling it off my dad who was engrossed in it too.

Shallow & lopsided
Curiously shallow description of the actual battlefields. I had hoped for a better appreciation of the geography & locations of battles. More tactical maps would have been nice. The photos in this book are oddly lopsided as well: Mainly pictures of distroyed German equipment & casualties. I count only two photos of US equipment destroyed in the fighting. I think this short changes the obstacles & casualties / material cost the Allied Forces had to overcome in very hard fighting.
