Safety instructions it’s also a heater, just be carefully and don’t keep it “on” for too long!
Very beautiful and be peaceful time . Please follow all safety instructions , probably will need to buy and electric extension for more safety. I really love it, specially to give the family ambience together around the fireplace. Also is a heater , changing lights colors add to the insert more realistic lighting . Works really good and definitely gives You as Me that happiness we all desire . Excellent for a very realistic decoration when the light goes “ON” easy to asesembly

Great fireplace
Great fireplace. It looks so real that when you touch the glass you expect it to be hot lol. It really is a realistic flame and heat output is fantastic. Looks more real than the more expensive ones. The only thing I wish is you could tell what heat setting you are one from the remote. Still a perfect item

Cute Little Fireplace Unit
This fireplace is so nice and was the perfect fit to the mantle that my fiancé and I were building. It’s warm and adds the finishing touch. We love the surround for the fireplace and the different settings. The only downside is that the fire color effect isn’t quite as realistic as other electric fireplace inserts we’ve seen. Otherwise it’s a great product!

Fantastic, cost-effective, great heat unit.
*** Note: 1 Reviewer posted that they don’t know if it works as the remote arrived “dead.” Heads-up, there’s a thin piece of clear plastic on the remote that needs to be gently pulled out to activate the battery. I thought my remote was dead as well, until my teen pulled the clear plastic tag out of it (... and rolled her eyes at me..! Lol). I own a 1700 sq ft colonial home in Buffalo, NY (brrrrrr....) that was built in 1899 (blown-in insulation probably circa 1960-1970 as it’s now settled into the lower 2.5’ portion of my walls...). I have 10’ ceilings and have taken down several walls to give the main floor a more open-concept (probably close to 800/900 sq ft). I purchased the electrical insert: 1. Because it is cost-effective; 2. To fill a void in a now-defunct wood-burning fireplace hearth/box; 3. For “clean-burning” fireplace effect, 4. To supplement my heat in the open, high ceiling living room; 5. For ambiance. I am beyond pleased. First, price. Actually, I would have paid double for this unit. Second, easy set up. There was no “set up.” Slide it out of box, place it where you want it. Plug it in. Easy-peas. Third, ambiance. I was extremely, pleasantly surprised. Old electric inserts were so cheesy. This unit has 5 levels of “fire glow” and they look relatively realistic. 3 people have thought it was gas. Fourth, no odor. Outside of the initial plug in and burn off of the residual manufacturing smell (... which only lasted 10 mins), there’s no odor. That’s important as we have asthmatics in the house. Fifth, heat output. This unit has 3 heat levels: no heat, (just flame effect), low and high. Flame effect and heat are controlled separately on the remote. Even the low heat effect has helped on our sub-zero winter wind-chill days here in Buffalo. The unit does supplement my furnace heat and keeps my living room toasty. I’m excited to use it on those “transition” spring and fall days where you just want to take the chill out of the air but don’t want to turn the whole-house furnace on. Sixth, quiet. This unit does have a hum when the heat is blowing (if you only have the fire effect turned on, there’s no noise). The hum is the same on both high and low heat settings; it is not distracting or outrageous. Of course if my power goes out this electric insert won’t help, but I am over-the-moon pleased with the unit as a whole and the glowing fire effect. I am now considering a second unit for another defunct fireplace in my dining room. 5-Star unit for sure.

Holds up at 5 years!
A good attractive fireplace insert. Very easy to use. Just place in fireplace and plug in. Mine is 5 years old and still works perfectly. Looks like an “electric” fire. It’s sturdy and can be removed and replaced to fireplace as seasonal warmth is needed. It does make some noise as you can hear motor. However with Christmas music on or when I’m entertaining it’s fine. The only thing that I would complain about is the remote control at 5 years old is falling apart. I tried to order a new one but manufacturer reports there are no “parts” available.

A daily winter treat
The old fireplace insert in our RV quit, and the RV name brand replacement was about $950. Uh, no! I found this insert on Amazon, it had good reviews, the price was amazing, and it was the closest in size to the original. My husband did a slight modification to the cabinet to make it right, and I’ll say that it looks better and sharper than the original RV insert. It has 3 flame colors, but I pretty much only use the orange-y yellow setting. The original insert had a more realistic-looking log and flame, but I’m not too bothered about that. I tested the heat function to ensure that it works, and the heat output is good. It’s quiet and seems of good quality. I’ve not tried the timer because I won’t ever use it. It’s easy to clean and dust it

Lasted about a year and died
Worked great for about a year. Others said this happened to them but since we have other Giantex products that were amazing, we took the risk. Worked fine until a few weeks ago and now it runs for about 20 minutes and then dies when set to HH (high heat). Won't stay on like it's overheating. It had been used mostly only last winter, so I took it apart and cleaned the dust out of everything. Put it back together and used it in my shop for a while. It once again worked for about 20-30 minutes and then shut off until it cooled down. Basically the overheat sensor died. I actually heard the click when the sensor came back on. I can probably hotwire it and make it unsafe but that's ridiculous. I'm unimpressed. This is simply a poor design. Sure it's cheaper but this just made it more expensive. Will never buy another one and probably abandon the Giantex brand entirely. Sad.

Works Great
We’ve had this fireplace for several months now and so far it has worked great with no issues. It’s super quick and easy to install and we love the purple color. My only complaint is: instead of just adding a sticker you can remove, the words “Do Not Cover” are painted permanently across the front. I’ll have to pant over that to hide it :/
