Quality monitor with options
I bought the outdoor monitor to add to my suite of outdoor data with my Tempest weather station. I am very happy with the station and the accuracy of the reporting. Here's the breakdown. Pros - Extremely easy installation. PoE (injector included) - if you hardwire it into a switch that's it. It's online ready to go. - 2 extremely high quality CAT6 cables are included - Aforementioned accuracy - Charting on the web app is great, months, days, hours, and minutes - Has an API that can be used to make custom displays etc (see con below) - Adding modules is as easy as inserting it into the device Cons - The CO2 module is *not* given away. You will pay a hefty sum for that data - Adding the CO2 module still leaves an empty slot in the device. I would love to add an O3 module to that slot. Con is that there is a slot that isn't utilized. - In order to gain access to the API of the device you *have* to share your data with the community. Personally, I am not a fan of this. I don't need people to be able to lookup on a map the exact location of a $400+ device (with CO2 module). Solution to this is make the location in an adjacent neighbor's yard! ;) - The app is pretty meh. The best data you can get is out of the website. At least on iOS it does have a widget which is ok. - The API does not include particle counts and there is no formula to extrapolate that data. Extremely minor quibble, but it's on the website as a data pid, but not in the API. Summary This device works extremely well hardwired into a switch. My monthly uptime report shows 100% uptime with destroys all the Purple devices along with anything else in the area. If I look at my chart on the community it's complete, anything else has hours of gaps. That right there tells me it's a good setup. The AQI readings are spot on with what others report, you can see spikes from environmental impacts in real time. I would recommend this to anyone interested in monitoring AQI, one of the things that really bothered me with Purple is that I was required to pay $40 for an AC adapter since it is NOT included. So really that makes this device quite the bargain against a Zen. The only reason I rated it 4 stars, not 5 is that I really dislike conditions tied around API access and I really want more data considering I have a completely empty slot in the device. I would love to see the price pushed down just a bit and more module options. Again, extremely happy with the purchase. Edit: I have increased the review to 5 stars based on product support. I had an issue where one of the PM modules had the fan seize which caused it to make noise. I called support and they asked that I identify the module, ensure it was free of dirt and debris. If it didn’t fix the issue, call back. It didn’t fix the issue so I called back. The support team validated my serial number/warranty and shipped out a replacement no cost no return of the faulty module. Furthermore, this was not an offshore call center. The experience was so refreshing they earned that last star.

AirVisual Pro measurements seem very accurate
This air quality monitor works very well for it's stated purpose. Something that is not clear and many reviewers may not know is that the displayed AQI calculation only takes PM 2.5 (smaller sized particles) into account. So it is possible that you are in an environment where you have high levels of PM10 particles (that would indicate poor air quality) but low levels of PM 2.5 particles and the Air Visual Pro would indicate a good air quality AQI. So this may explain why some reviewers perceived this as a symptom of a faulty monitor. The AirVisual Pro does have a PM10 sensor and does capture that measurement separately. You can access PM10 and PM2.5 measurements via a computer for offline analysis. Given that the PM10 measurement is available, I dont understand the rationale for not including it in their displayed AQI calculation. It would seem that all it would take would be a simple software change. This is the reason I took one star away from this product. Otherwise, it seems very accurate for PM 2.5, PM10 (checked offline), and Carbon Dioxide. You can google reviews for the AirVisual Pro and you will find many websites and organizations that have put this monitor to the test against similar products and in general they give the AirVisual Pro high marks. That has also been my experience as well, this monitor is very sensitive (including detecting increase in particles due to cooking, sweeping, using oil diffusers, etc...). I really would like them to update their software to include PM10 in their AQI calculation as well as later add an Ozone sensor.

The product quality is really good, no doubt about that. Installation process also very simple. Unfortunately the wall plug inside the box was upside down, and I've to contact seller for a replacement. They answered in a couple days and the problem solved less than 2 weeks. The local team (Mr. Kyle) send me the alternative wall plug which solve my outdoor setup problem.
