They are on to something!
The vacuum is great, but misses a couple of marks. The motor, powetrain, impeller and airflow are flwalessly designed and the machine delviers a lot of suction power. Motor sounds great while delivering the work. Plastic is shiny and cheap. I wish they would have gone for the fibre enforced matte meterial that powertools usually come in.Downsides are that the exhaust ports are designed the wrong way around... the suprisingly high speed exhaust is blown upwards, directly into the users face. It's tolerable, but it clearly is a design flaw, since the stream could have also been directed downwards. ...coming to think of it, maybe its not a flaw but a feature - a downward air stream would maybe disturb the material that needs vacuming.Another downside is the quality of the attachments. Especially the pointed nozzle with slide-down brush does not properly arrest the brush in any position. Also, the rubber flap one-way-valve keeping debris in the dust chamber was not properly installed on mine. I just had to tighten the screw a little more to correct that though. All in all a great little shop/car/furniture vac if you already have the batteries (same model is available for most common battery systems). If you check in a couple of times, you can have luck to get it with a coupon for ca. thirty bucks - which is amazing. For fourty it is still well worth it.

Durable and Affordable
Product feels well made, plastic is robust. It's simple to use and I appreciate the extra washable filter that comes with it. I've been using it for almost a year and am still happy with it. The only issue I've been having is the on/off switch is getting stuck in the rubber housing around the handle.

As Good as Any Makita Vacuum for Half the Price!
I love the fact it uses Makita batteries since I only use Makita cordless tools. the pleasant suprise (sorry Makita), is that is comes with more accessories than the comparable Makita (which I own), you get the long corner attachment with the nice design of a retractable brush, a 4" wide head, a typical round brush, and a very nice large area attachment with a long extension, and an extra filter as well. Perfectly compatiible with my Makita batteries and may even offer slightly better suction (anecdotally since I have no way to measure). A great little vacuum, well done guys!

circuit board failure
Worked well for a short while. Bought in October and placed in trash in December. The circuit board allowed intermittent use, then not at all. My suggestion is to buy the genuine model by Makita. I have two that have been working well for years. I wanted a third and took a chance on this one. I have ordered a genuine model since.

Excellent.
Does a great job vacuuming. Lightweight is great when you don’t want to dragging the big vacuum out!!

already did a review on this
Already did a review on this. Sometimes I do a review on amazon and then they want me to review it again. Not sure why. Maybe one is from amazon and the other is from the seller. Not sure. Anyways for the price this is great. But is noisy and blow air in your face. Doesn't bother me because i only use it a short time upstairs to gather leaves from putting my summer plants upstairs because its too cold in the winter here to have them outside. It picks up the leaves that drop because they are not used to being indoors. Works well except for the noise and the exhaust blowing in my face. It was only about 48.00 dollars and I had an extra makita battery because it doesn't come with a battery. Well made product. and comes in handy.

On switch quits after maybe 2 weeks.
Let me start by saying, I love my Makita power tools and I own almost the entire line up from drill to chain saw and most in-between and love everyone of them! So when i found this Vacuum i was so excited because i have 8 of the batteries for these products! I am so disappointed though, The Start/Run button that you press to ingage the vacuum stops working after the first 5 to 10 uses. You can still hold the button down while in use and it works but it's not holding on its own like it's supposed to. This happened to the first one i purchased after 2 weeks of use so it was covered under 30 day warranty, then the same just happened to the new replacement i received.Other features were great, suction, attachments, light weight but I do not want to have to press and hold the button the entire time it's in use.

Verified Not a Brushless Motor
Reading through the reviews, someone posted it was not a brushless motor as advertised. I took mine apart and verified it is a "Brushed Motor", not brushless. I should have known the $50 price tag was suspicious when it stated Brushless...I will admit, it has more than double the suction of my Makita 18v Handheld vac which also has a brushed motor. So too early to tell how long a battery will last or how long the vac will last...Thats why its getting 3 stars instead of 5...5 stars on suction, zero stars on false advertising!Edited to change to 4 stars and corrected statement that my Makita Handheld Vac has a Brushed Motor instead of Brushless.
