GMGDaniel Boone and Jim Bowie Igniter!!!

I have a GMG Daniel Boone Prime which is the latest models with wifi. Installed this igniter and the grill would not heat up. I called Green Mountain Grills and they told me that this igniter isn't compatible with the Prime WIFI models. Sounds like it does work for the Non Prime models. FYI

Wrong item or misleading item. The replacement that was sent to me is significantly shorter than the OEM igniter on my Daniel Boone. It also uses a cheap flimsy coil style stopper rather than the grooved style shown in the picture and on the original Daniel Boone. It will not sit flush or secure. Do you not waste your money.I have sent a message to pellethead and if they respond and rectify the issue, I will update my review. Otherwise, if you see this still, buyer beware.

Had to return it twice as the product did not match the picture if was actually a white igniter. I did not release until reading some reviews that the wires had to be fed from the fire box rather than the other way (the igniter would not fit if installing as described from the outside to the fire box. May it would have worked but I was leery since the product didn't even look like the one pictured.

As others have mentioned the metal coil forces you to load into the firebox wires first as opposed to the video instructions from GMG. The product doesn’t come with a set screw, and the original clip doesn’t seem to work well with this.I’d have given a 5/5 if it came with a zip tie and set screw.

Ok so I decided to check this out. We got our grill from a friend because it stopped igniting. so we tried this and it works wonderfully. There is a coil spring on the end we had to remove because the old one didn't have it. wouldn't fit with it on, I assume it will be for other grills. We have a Daniel Boone. We love the results. Great food!

Only gave it 4 stars b/c I haven't had to install it yet. Few weeks ago I thought the original burnt out/failed. I turned it a few times, it was real loose for some reason. Then, it started working again as before. Weird. It' still working but I have this new one as a back up just incase the orig. dies!!

needed to replace the igniter on a 6 month old Green Mountain smoker. Part works but not happy with the short life of the original one which was only 6 months old - maybe need to rethink the Green Mountain brand.

Aparently there is more than one igniter size for GMG Daniel Boone grills. Mine is the wireless model and takes a max. 3/8" diameter igniter, and this ones is approx 5/8" diameter.
