Night Shift

Great condition and great book
I originally found this story on Wattpad. The author published a few chapters and I was hooked! Pre-ordered immediately and glad I waited. This book helped me get over my reading slump. I finished it in less than 24 hours. I couldn’t put it down. I’m usually into more spice but this story was so sweet it made up for the lack of spice (honestly putting in more spice would have ruined the sweetness). The main character is beyond relatable for all the bookish ladies. I don’t think I’ve ever felt more kindred to an FMC’s internal monologue. 10/10 if you’re looking for that comforting love story and looking to break your reading rut.4/5 ⭐️storyline - the miscommunication trope is just a little overdone2/5 🌶️spice

Better Than Expected!
Book Review: “Night Shift” by Annie Crown. PubDay: November 14, 2023. Tropes: Basketball Star & Quiet Library Nerd, Tutoring Trope, College Sports Romance. Rating: 4⭐️& 1🌶️.•Cheers to my first book for the month of December and cheers to my first book by this author! The book I read before this was a dark bully romance with graphic writing and this book was the complete opposite, very cute, happy, and easy to love. This would be a very good ease into reading romance books because it was a little bit of kissing and loosing her virginity. I really loved the banter between the two characters and I love how they much the male main character worked to get his woman back!•Below are some of my favorite quotes:-“Maybe I should feel lonely during these long and quiet night shifts, but I don’t. Not when I’m surrounded by books”.-“ I’m always skeptical of non-fiction men. They are, as Nina puts it, garbage. And I know that’s a generalization, but it’s scary to be a straight woman when you never know if your new crush might actually be a closeted racist, a serial killer, or a cryptocurrency enthusiast”.

Not what I expected
I didn’t get the hype saw this on TikTok and I thought I’d give her a shot. Don’t get me wrong. It was a cute book 3.1 spice and The working on communication and understanding was there, but I expected more if it’s coming from a TikTok c creator And you’re telling me that it’s a good book but when I read it, it’s not that hyped up about it. I gave this a 3.1

Sweet & Spicy
I DEVOURED this book. Seriously. I read this in five hours (and I was supposed to be working). It is mostly smut? Yes. Is that a bad thing? No. It's the point of the book--one Kendall makes herself. I loved the narrative of Kendall being a romance reader and how much pressure there is to compare real life to fictional ideals. Big win. It could have used maybe a few subplots, if only to lengthen it. I didn't want it to be over. And, that being said, I read this as an ARC, but immediately preordered a physical copy to add to my collection. Thanks to NetGalley and W by Wattpad Books
