Great pizza oven
I had my mind set on a Forno but the reviews on this one were so good and the price was much (much!) less so, I took a chance. It has been great. We haven’t used gas, just wood. Really like the way you can cook multiple pizzas in a short time. We recently had 28 people over and it was amazing! It was easy to set up and use. It’s heavy. Very heavy! So, don’t think it’s easily portable. The only disadvantage over a Forno, to me, is that the wood fire in a Forno is on the side. The fire in the Ooni is in the back. The Forno makes it easier to see when the pizza is leoparding and needs rotating. But, practice will make the Ooni easier to figure out the nuances of rotating. So, definitely happy with this brand and model.

A beast with some quirks... that delivers phenomenal pizzas.
CONS: - Way overpriced extra propane attachment... @ ~$150 USD. - Temperature adjustment is from the far back, where you can't possible watch the flame while turning. PROS: - Everything else. - This heats up quickly, seems to barely sip propane, and cooks the best pizzas. OUR STORY Got this for my wife for Christmas, as pizza is her absolute favorite food... so I figured we'd learn to make restaurant grade pizzas. A few videos later (see Vito's poolish recipes on YouTube) and several rounds of learning to properly form/shape the dough, and we were making incredible pies at home, rivaling some of the very best we've ever had at restaurants. The pics included are from a few rounds back - about midway through our journey, at only about 6 weeks in!

Fun, delicious, and crazy fast!
I love this pizza oven! It has been a very easy to use. We are still dialing it in with our dough and cook times. But everything we have made has come out great. This is a dual fuel model and I have only used it with a propane tank so far. I am looking forward to using wood charcoal next. It heats very fast, but you do need to make sure the stone is also up to temperature, not just the oven. Cooking time is insanely fast 1-2 minutes. However prep time for homemade dough takes some time for the dough to rise (3 hours). Ooni provides some great tips and recipes as well.

Fun pizza making time!
I bought this as a Christmas present for my father and we’ve been absolutely loving it for the past couple of months making our own pizzas right in our backyard :D It’s been a great family experience making our own dough, firing up the pizza oven, and eating our own creations. The pizza oven was super easy to set up and came with a fun booklet that went over how to operate the pizza oven (with either gas or natural wood burning) and even gave recipes and tips on how to make your best pizzas :)

Burner won’t stay lit, even after replacing it with a new one. Customer service won’t help.
I purchased the OONI Karu 16 along with the gas burner attachment. It worked fine for about six months and then the burner started shutting off after a few minutes. I tried troubleshooting it to no avail and the return process was arduous so I just purchased a new one and it had the exact same problem on the first use. Their support team wanted me to go through the same troubleshooting steps for a brand new burner. They also will not get on the phone with me to help. Terrible customer experience

Perfect for that backyard pizza oven experience
Glad we went with the 16" option. Easy to use. Ordered the gas option but have been using dried oak and it heats fairly quickly so have yet to try the propane attachment. Love the wood flavor.

Best Purchase Ever for GF Pizza
The big incentive for us getting this was having a dedicated pizza oven for me and my friends that are Celiac. I’ve unfortunately ran into a ton of places that say are celiac safe but cross contaminate or the pizza is just terrible. Y’all. Let me just say there is definite learning curve to cooking, turning/peeling the pizza. But y’all. Best gluten free pizza ever. NOT ONLY THIS. Ooni has a Gluten Free Pizza crust recipe. HOLY COW!!! I felt like I was eating a normal gluteny pizza. We did a test batch of the pizza dough before we purchased the oven. It was really good. Cooking it in the Karu knocked it out of the park! It was amazing! The only switch I did to the dough was I used Winco’s bulk bin GF flour, it worked just as well and sooo amazing! 10/10! We’re so excited to cook so many more things in this. Highly recommend.

This is a great product. Assembly was straight forward and it looks fabulous. We made pizza the first night and yes the first one turned into a calzone (haha, check out reviews...). Just use lots of semolina or cornmeal on the pizza peel and don't use too wet of a dough. Don't assemble the prize on the peel. Also get an infra red thermometer to check the stone temperature. It should be over 650 F before the pizza goes on. We have ours in the garage for winter for year round use.

The oven is great, heats up very well and requires some skill to not burn the pizza when at maximum temperature. Yields amazing napoletan pizzas. It is not very portable, it is heavy. Although, I took it in a car camping trip and it was a success. Charcoal heats up high in the beginning but after the flame is down and only the ambers are left, it keeps the temp around 250 Celsius. Wood is hotter than charcoal due to the flames, but requires constant feed due to tray size. Gas keeps the oven at temperature but propane can go fast. Choose your fuel and invite me over for some pizzas ;)

At first we were intimidated by the oven but after the first few pizzas we got the hang of it. Tried several dough recipes including frozen dough and every single pizza came out amazing. Perfect for pizza parties! Takes 90 seconds to cook!

Simple to assemble with clear instructions… You will love it and so will your family and friends who will be jealous of your new pizza oven.
