If you are interested in measuring the pH of your tap water before and after alkalisation, this pH Reagent is a cost effective way of doing so. Digital Meters are accurate but they can be expensive and they need to be calibrated with pH 7 and pH 10 buffer solution on a regular basis if you want to maintain their accuracy. This is not convenient and an expensive method of measuring pH on an adhoc basis. Being able to measure the pH of your alkalised water means that you will know for sure when your filter needs replacing. Although we provide guidelines on how long the filters last this will vary depending on the quality of your tap water. So an effective way to know that your filter is still alkalising is to use a Reagent. This involves measuring out 50mls of alkalised water and adding two drops of Reagent.
