Great
This book is really helpful and well written. The DVD especially is useful for the preparations of the exam. I absolutely recommend this book.

Useful book
I got this book late before my exam. The physiology and critical care part of it are nicely written in a question and answer format, it actually made many topics ,which I use to preceive as being difficult, easy to understand, like for example action potentials. The little anatomy present in the book is very relevent to the exam but it is clearly not enough. As I said I got it only few day before my exam and I did not read the other chapters, anyway, it is a good book and I do recommend it with its more and highly successful part 2 book.

Makes exam revision enjoyable! (As much as that is possible)
Clear and the stunning pictures in full colour are great memory aids. Comes as close as possible to making revision not boring!

Mistakes that can be annoying
Unfortunately the book has quite a lot of of mistakes that in the beginning I started to take notes in order to inform the writers but then I just got bored because there were just too many. Just an example it says hemorrhage would initially be managed with colloids although we know that the use of then is almost withdrawn in NHS. maybe the second book that is for clinical examination might be better. But I am little unwilling to try having in mind the first book

Very very Good
The DrExam MRCS Part B Revision Guides Vol 1 & 2 provide a framework for focussed preparation for the exam that meant I passed first time without attending a course. There are a few mistakes in it - hence 4 and not 5 stars - (e.g. Thyroid develops from 1st and 2nd pharyngeal pouch) but am sure these will be ironed out in future editions. I found the layout and depth absolutely ideal and having a DVD is very useful for clinical examinations you haven't had demonstrated to you before (for me this included hand examination). Well done for a well prepared revision guide and thanks!
