Fair-trade cotton Tibetan Prayer Flags made in Nepal. String of Wish Fulfilling flags is 121" long with 10 large 13" x 10.5" flags. Each cloth is vibrantly colored with veggie-dye and traditionally woodblock printed with sutras for peace, prosperity, knowledge, success and long life. Hang prayer flags outside in your backyard, over small front porches/ledges, apartment balconies, or even take them camping. You can use them to decorate indoors as well; string them up on your wall, ceiling, doorways, dorm rooms or display them across windows. These traditional Lung-ta (wind horse) prayer flags include sutras and mantas from Green Tara for compassion and prosperity, Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) for knowledge and protection against war, famine, and natural disasters and the 3-long life Buddhas for health and longevity; something this world can use extra prayers for. Traditionally, Tibetan Prayer Flags are hung high in the Himalayans so the wind can gradually unravel the prayers printed on the flags cloth, slowly carrying the sacred mantras and sutras across the earth to benefit all sentient beings. Colors are used to bring harmony through balancing the five elemental and spiritual energies. According to Nyingma School, the color element correspondence is: Blue-space, White-air, Red-fire, Green-water, Yellow-Earth. On a spiritual level, these energies correspond to the 5 Buddha Families and the 5 Wisdoms; each of the 5 colors relates to an element and an aspect of the enlightened mind. Flags come with card denoting the most auspicious and inauspicious days to hang them according to the Tibetan calendar. Generally, Monday is a good day to hang them and Friday is a very good day. If possible, it's best to aim for a sunny morning. Made in Nepal by Ganesh Himal Trading Company, a certified Fair-Trade Federation member.
